Special Meeting of the Human Relations Commission
CALL TO ORDER
A Special Meeting of the San Luis Obispo Human Relations Commission was called to order on
Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at 6:00 a.m. via teleconference by Chair Campbell.
OATH OF OFFICE
Deputy City Clerk Megan Wilbanks administered the Oath Office to Taryn Warrecker and Jesse
Grothaus.
ROLL CALL
Present: Commissioners Dusty Colyer-Worth, Jesse Grothaus, Angie Kasprzak,
Emily Rosten, Megan Souza, Taryn Warrecker, and Chair Renoda

Absent: No Absences
Staff & Guests: Cara Vereschagin, Housing Coordinator; Owen Goode, Assistant Planner;
Megan Wilbanks, Deputy City Clerk
ELECTION OF VICE CHAIR
1.Elect a member of the Human Relations Commission to serve as Vice Chair for a one-
year term.
ACTION: MOTION BY COMMISSIONER ROSTEN, SECOND BY COMMISSIONER
SOUZA, 7-0-0 to approve nomination of Commissioner Colyer-Worth to serve as Vice Chair
for a one-year term.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
2.Consideration of Minutes of the Human Relations Commission meeting of March 3, 2021.
ACTION: MOTION BY VICE-CHAIR COLYER-WORTH, SECOND BY
COMMISSIONER ROSTEN, 7-0-0 to approve the minutes of the meeting of the Human
Relations Commission of March 3, 2021.

BUSINESS ITEMS
3.Preliminary Review of 2020-21 Grants-in-Aid (GIA) Subcommittee Funding
Recommendations
The Subcommittee, which consisted of Chair Campbell and Commissioner Rosten, presented
their funding recommendations to the rest of the Commission. Each funding recommendation
was then reviewed thoroughly by all Commissioners, collaboratively, until all funding
recommendations were agreed upon. During review, opportunity was made available to all
Commissioners to provide input and feedback.
STAFF & COMMISSION COMMUNICATIONS
4.Staff Updates
Housing Coordinator Vereschagin announced the City Council will consider the preliminary
FY2021-23 Financial Plan and Budget on April 20, 2021.
5.Commissioner Updates
No Commissioners updates were disclosed. The Commission formally introduced themselves
to welcome the two new commissioners.
ADJOURNMENT
Chair Campbell adjourned the meeting at 7:35 p.m. The next Regular Meeting of the Human
Relations Commission is scheduled for Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at 5:00 p.m., via teleconference.
