Dear Mayor and Council Members:
The Central Coast Climate Justice Collaborative (3CJC) is a newly convened group of nonprofit
and community-based organizations united in the pursuit of environmental justice, climate
resilience, and sustainability initiatives. Its goal is to ensure that every person on the Central
Coast is justly represented in the regional response to the impacts of climate change.
In pursuit of its mission, the 3CJC will:
Center its efforts on historically under-resourced and underrepresented communities;
Pursue funding and grant opportunities to address local and regional needs;
Convene community stakeholders to inform local leaders about their community needs;
Prioritize equity and climate justice initiatives and programs; and
Advocate for the advancement of key climate justice policies and programs to local,
county, state, and federal decision makers.

grant program. Although the group ultimately decided not to submit a final grant application
Ʒŷźƭ ĭǤĭƌĻͲ źƷƭ źƒƦĻƩğƷźǝĻ ƷŷğƷ ǞĻ ĬĻŭźƓ ǞƚƩƉing together now to lay the foundation for future
opportunities.
As the founding member organizations of 3CJC and leaders in the fields of climate, diversity,
and environmental justice, we welcome your involvement, support, and questions.
