HomeMy WebLinkAbout03/15/19201 1 I 1 City Nall, noonday, Warch 15th 1920 - 7:350 P.M. City Council met in regular session, Mayor L.F. Sinsheimer presiding. Present, H.A. Gowman, James Piper , John Chapek , L.F. Sinsheimer. Absent , H.B. Kirtland. The minuted of !.'larch 1st and 9th were read and approved as read on motion of H.A. Go manseconded by John Chapek. On motion of John Chapek seconded by James Piper the application of e James Scettrini for permit to repair buildings in Block 17; together with application for permit to lay 60 ft of full width side•.valk and curbing on the Sliest side of Court Street between 1 ?onterey and Figuera Street , was ordered granted. The a -onlications of J.P. Blackburn & Co. and J.R. Wilson for license for Cigar Store and Cigars as a Sideline respectively were referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety on motion of John Cha_rek seconded by James Piper. The aLplications of Thompson Reid and James Scettrini for Sewer connections on Higuera Street between Essex and Johnson Street and on Court Street between I�,gonterey and Figuera Street respectively , were ordered _ranted on motion of John Chapek seconded by James "irer, On motion of H.A. Go•wman seconded by John Chapek License Ordinance No. 76 ( New Series ) was finally passed by the f olio:ving vote: Ayes : H.A. Gowma.n, James Piper , Jchn Chapek , L.F. Sinsheimer. Noes : None. Absent : H.B. Kirtland. The labor bills together with the claims of ?.S. Sanders and N.J. Bre-er for one half months salary , :vere ordered paid on motion of John Chapek seconded by James Piper. In re attendant at City Farm , -!r Chapek reported that-.arrangen;ents had begin made with Y.C. Long , whereby he would remain as Attendant if salary were increased to $ 170.00 per month. It was moved by H.As Gasman and seconded by James Piper that the matter of Salary of Mr. Long be left to the Commissioner of Public Works with power to act. It was the sense of the Council that when adjournment aas taken , that it be in respect to Commissioner H.B. Kirtland on account of bereavement. On motion of H.A.
