City Council met in regular seasion - Mayor L.F. Sinsheimer. presiding.
Present : H.B. Kirtland , James Piper, John Chapek , L.F. Sinsheimer.
Absent : H.A. Gowman.
The minutes of Feb. 21st.and 28th.were read and apporved as read on motion of
James Piper seconded ny John Chapek.
The request of the City Board of Education that $ 58000.00 be transferred from
the High School Fund to the Common School Fund and $ 2,000.00 to the Kindergarten School
Fund was granted on motion of H.B. Kirtland seconded by John Chapek.
The following application for permit to build were granted on motion of
John Chapek seconded by James Piper
J.A. Holmes - Residence Lot 1 & 2 Block 2 Harford Addn -- Cost $ 3,000.00
A.C. Gibson- Garage Lot 9 Block 25 Cost $ 100.00
A C. Gibson - Garage La Vina Trawt . Cost 100000

On motion of Janes Piper seconded by John Chapek , J.L.Anderson was granted permit
to lay 100 feet of full width sidewalk on the North side of Dana Street , also to
reset stone curb.
On motion of John Chapek seconded by James Piper the Santa Maria Gas Company
was granted permit to open trenches at the following locations :
Court Street between Monterey and Higuera Street
Higuera Street between Nipomo and Carmel Street and Higuera Street between
'Walker and High Street.

The merchandising Bond of Dan L. Polin was received and accepted by the Council
on motion of James Piper seconded by John Chapek.
The report of the City Collector and Police Judge for the month of February were
received and ordered filed on motion of James Piper seconded by H9 B. Kirtland.
A petition requesting Street improvement on Islay Street between Gardenand Chorro
P
'Street was received and referred to the Commissioner of Public Works, on motion of James Piper
seconded by H.B. Kirtland.
The following petitions of Nomination , of Candidates for City Offices to be voted
on at the Municipal Election April 4th . were presented, with affidavit of the City Clerk ,
that same had been verified and found to be sufficient:
For Mayor ... L.F. Sinsheimer - C.M. Carpenter.
For Councilman .. Geo. W. Kilbern - W.B. Martin
John Chapek -- Geo. H. Andrews.

On motion of H.B. Kirtland seconded by James Piper the following licenses were
ordered cancelled .

# 815 -- Bettenccurt & Felix Billiards & Pool 2,504 $ 5.50
License # 815 was cancelled with the understanding that notice be posted to the
effect that no charge be made for use of Pool Table on premises.

the City Camping Grounds was limited to t qo weeks.
Claims against the City for the month of February, with the exception of these
of C.H.Kamm ( Fire Dept ) were ordered paid on motion of John Chapek seconded by James Pipere
It was moved by James Piper , seconded by 'John Chapek and carried that Street
Paving bills bearing O.K. of the County Engineer be paid.
On motion of John Chapek seconded by James Piper $ 200.00 received from sale of
Gas Engine was ordered credited to the General Fund.
On motion of H.B. Kirtland seconded by John Chapek the meeting adjourned to
Monday,March 14th 1921 at 7 :30 P.Me
