City.Council met in adjourned session, Mayor L.F. Sinsheimer presiding.
Present : H.B. Kirtland , H.A. Gowman , James Piper , John Chapek ; L.F. Sinsheimer.
Absent : None.
The following applications for permit to build were ordered granted on motion
of John Chapek seconded by James Piper:
M.F. Dyer and A.V. Cline - Lot 13 La Vina Block - 3 Residences Cost $ 3,000.00 each.
C.J. Smith - Block 103 - Repairs & Additions Cost $ 200.00
Wm. Mercer & F.C. Kimball - Lot 2 Block 114 Reeds Addn.Service Station Cost 500.00
Chas, R. Long- Lot 4 Block 91- Residence Cost $ 600.00
Eliza Miossi -.Lot4 La Vine Block Garage & Store Room Cost $ 700.00
O.S. Axtell - Lot 2 Block 191 Ingleside Tract Garages Cost $ 500.00
On motion of John Chapek seconded by James Piper , S.J. Lowe was permitted to
move a house from without the City Limits to Lot 10 Block 16.

On motion of H.A. Gowman seconded by H.B. Kirtland , R. Bassi was permitted to
change the location of a building in Block 306
The application of the Whistle Bottling Works ( W.C. Brennan ) for license for
Bottling was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety on motion of
H.H. Kirtlandseconded by John Chapek.
The following applications for Sewer connections were granted on motion of
John Chapek seconded by James Piper.
Sandercock Transfer Cc - Broad Street between Higuera and Marsh Street.
Mrs. Clara Hilderbrand - Islay Street between Sahta Rosa and Toro Street.
Whistle Bottling Works - Nipomo Street between Monterey and Higuera Street.
On motion of John Chapek seconded by H.B. Kirtland , Julius A. Leitner was
granted permission to open trench across Fig Street between OsOS and Santa Rosa Street
' for the purpose of running':.tiat9r. pipe.
` The petition of property owners on Islay Street between Chorro and Morro Street
N} requesting that the said street be graded and graveled , was referred to the Commissioner

of Public Works.

On motion of H.A. Gowman seconded by H.B. Kirtland , Julius E: Bonetti and the
Liberty Cafe were granted license for Taxicab and Soft Drinks respectively.
It was moved by H.A. Gowman and seconded by H.B. Kirtland that action on the
a,cplication of the Womans Civic Club for license for Carnival , filed on the 31st day of
January and granted on the 7th day of February, be rescinded. Motion carried and
it was so ordered by the following vote:
Ayes : H.B. Kirtland , H.A. Gowman , James Piper , John Chapek , L.F. Sinsheimer.

committee appeared before the Council and requested permission to use
ertain streets
for Auto Racing during Prosperity Week- April 4th to 11th. Upon motion
of H.B. Kirtland
seconded by John Chapek the request was granted with the understanding that
the policing be
under the supervision of the Commissioner of Public Health and Safetyand that
the expense of
same be borne by the Committee in charge.
It
was also requested that the Prosperity Week Committee be permitted to rope
off Higuera Street between Garden and Chorro Street On the evening of April 5th and
Monterey Street
from Chorro to Morro Street on Friday evening April 9th for the purpose of
Street Dancing.
The request was granted on motion of James Piper seconded
by John Chapek.

the amount of $ 3.52 was ordered cancelled on motion of H.B. Kirtland seconded .
by H. A:. Gowman.
