Approved this day of 1921. 1 1 Mayor. f 1 J d / / Il w1� CityHall , Monday, May 2d 1921 - 7:30 P.M. City Council met in regular session - Mayor L.F. Sinsheimer presiding. Present: H.B. Kittland , H.A. Gowman , James Piper , John Chapek, L.F. Sinsheimer. Absent ; None. The minutes of April 18th and 25th were read and approved as read on motion of James Piper seconded by John Chapek. It was ordered that the application of A.B. Small for permit to erect a .Garage on Lots 1C -11 -12 of Block 1 Central Addition , be held over to the next meeting and referred to the ,City Attorney for opinion as to whether Council had right to deny same ; also if adjoining property owners objected to the erection of same. It was moved by John Chapek and seconded by James Piper that the application. of Mrs. Annie B. Folmer for permit to build a residence on lot 5 Block 48 be granted and that the Contractor , John Holmes , be Notified to take out a license for such work. The motion carried. 1 M.I Pereira - 50 ft. 6 foot park sidewalk on Chorro Street ; 95 ft. 5ft.park sidewalk on Church Street, also 90 feet of gutter. Mrs. Grace Arata -- 50 ft cement curbing and gutter on the South side of Buchon Street between Toro and Essex Street. L.A. Enos -- 50 ft, cement curbing and gutter on the south side of Buchon Street between Toro and Essex Street. for On motion of H.A. Gowman seconded by H.B. Kirtland to build were ordered the following applications permit granted: W.R. Wilder -- Addition to Garage Block 200 Cost $ 50.00 Manuel Luis. -- Residence Lot 4 Block 4 Nortons Addn 20200.00 J.J. O'Sullivan Est -- Garage Block 33 Cost 120.00 J.C. Schow -- Garage Lot 10 Block 174 Dallidet Addn 25.00 1 Laura B. Donnelly -- Extension to Garage Block 62 Cost 50.00 L.M. Puffer -- Garage Lot 12 Block 17 Central Addn 75.r.p Clara Sauer -- Addition second Story to Bakery Block 14 • 2,500.00 Harry B. Adams -- Residence Block 16 Central Addn 500.00 ' for On motion of James Piper seconded by John Chapek the following applications to lay sidewalk curbin and were permit , gutters granted : Della Bryant -- 45 M,1 of 7 foot park sidewalk on the South side Church Street between Morro and Chorro Street. 1 M.I Pereira - 50 ft. 6 foot park sidewalk on Chorro Street ; 95 ft. 5ft.park sidewalk on Church Street, also 90 feet of gutter. It was moved by John Chapek seconded by James Piper and carried that the following applications for Serer connections be granted: Fred Bonilla - Francis Ave. and Broad Street. W.H. Salzman - Islay Street between Osos and Santa Rosa Street.. Manuel Luis - South Broad Street between Alexander and Alphonso Street. The application of the Santa Maria Gas Company for permit to open ditch on Higuera Street between Walker and Archer Street granted on motion of H.A. Gowman seconded John Chapek. On motion of H.B. Kirtland seconded by John Chapek the application of La France Cafeteria for license was referred to Commissioner H.A. Gowman for report. The reports of the City Collector and Police Judge for the month of:-April were received and ordered filed on motion of H.B. Kirtland seconded by H.A. Gowman. The applications of J. Jaqua for license for Taxicab and Soft Drinks granted on motion of H.A. Gowman seconded by John Chapek, The Merchandising Bond of David Kronick in the sum of $ 200.00 was accepted on Lotion of H.B. Kirtland seconded by H.A. Gowman. A communication was received from E Wineman in re increased rental for the Collector's Office. It was moved by James Piper and seconded by H.A. Gowman that the communication be placed on file and the matter referred to Mayor L.F. Sinsheimer. On motion of H.B. Kirtland seconded by John Chapek the application of Mrs. Anna M. Lilley for appointment as City Collector was ordered placed on file. The application of Hans Heisel for permit to move a building from Lots 16- 17 -18- Block 172 Dallidet Addition to Lot 10 Block 173 Loomis and Osgood Adds granted on motion of John Chapek seconded by James Pipers Bonds of-G.W. Kilbern , Councilman elect , and Callie M. John, City Clerk elect, were referred to the City Attorney on motion of H.A. Gowman seconded by John Chapek. On motion of H.B. Kirtland seconded by H.A. On motion of H.B. Kirtland seconded by John Chapek the following licenses reported by the City Collector as " Uncollectable " were referred to the City Attorney: # 1435 M.
