structure to be used as a Garage in Block 1 Central Addition was granted on motion of
H.A. Gowman seconded by James Piper.
The claim of E.M. Payne for the amount of $ 29+.27 was allowed on motion of
James Piper seconded by John Chapek.
City Collector , Agnes M. Lee appeared'Ifefore the Council and stated that she
did not desire reappointment as City Collector.

A communication was received from Thos W. Sloan, Forest Supervisor,
relative to

01 the cooperation by the City of San Luis Obispo in contributing toward expense of
patrolman for protecting Water Sheds in close proximity to the City of San Luis Obispo.
It was moved by H.A. Gowman and eeconded by James Piper that $ 200900 be contributed
from Water Fund , to the Forest Service for patkoling Water Shed . Motion Carried.

F.G. Anderson -- 50 M full width sidewalk and curbing on the west side of Broad Street
between Pismo and Pacific Street.
On motion of H.A. Gowman seconded by W.B. Martin the Santa Maria Gas Company
was permitted to open trench on South Street between Higuera Street and Beebee Stre ®t and
ron Francis Ave. between Victoria and Broad Streets for the purpose of installing Gas mains,
also, to open trench On Broad Street between Higuera Street and Frances Avenue and on
Islay Street between Santa Rosa and.Osos Street for the purpose of installing gas services.
It:was moved by W.B. Martin , seconded by James Piper and Carried that the
application of.the Mid. Counties Pub. Service Corp'n for permit to rebuild lines on
Pacific Street between Essex a nd Johnson Street be referred to the Commissioner of
' Public Works for investigation and report.
The reports of the City Clerk and City 'Treasurer for the month of April
were received and ordered filed on motion of James Piper seconded by H.A. Gowman:

The official Bond of L.F. Sinsheimer , Mayor , was received and referred to
the City Attorney.
A petition was received from property owners on Broad Street between
- Higuera Street and Islay Street requesting permission to grade and pave that portion of
.� said street lying between the line of Highway and curb line. The matter was referred

to the City Attorney for opinion and to the City Clerk to check
Labor bills were ordered paid on motion of H.A. Gowman seconded by
JamesPiper.
The next order of business taken up was the naming of a Vice - President of
the Council and the assignment of Commissions:
On motion of W.B. Mat-tin seconded by James Piper , H.A. Gowman was nominated
for gic& president of the Council The motion prevailed and H.A. Gowman was
declared elected to the office of Vice - President.
On motion of H.A. Gowman seconded by Geo. w. Kilbern , W.B. Martin was
nominated for Commissioner of Finance and Revenue. The motion carried and W.B. '.Martin
was declared elected as Commissioner of Finance and Revenue.
On motion of Geo. W. Kilbern seconded by W.B. Martin, H.A. Gowman was
nomonated for Commissioner of Public Health and Safety. The motion carried and
H.A. Gowman was declared duly elected to the Commission of Public Health and Safety.
On motion of Geo. W. Kilbern seconded by W.B. ;Martin , James Piper was
nominated for Commissioner of Supplies .
