The matter of the proposed purchase of certain property of John B. Isola to
rest until the next meeting.
On. motion of H.A. Gowman seconded by James Piper the Commissioner of Public
Works was directed to proceed with the work of repairing Creek gall at Higuera and
Osos Street.
On motion of H.A. Gowman seconded by W.B. Martin the Commissioner of Supplies
was authorized to purchase sufficient paint to paint the inside walls of the lower floor
of the City Hall used by the Fire Department.
On motion of H.A. Gowman seconded by James Piper the Commissioner of Public
Works was directed to repair gutter in front of the City Ball.
The matter of repairing floor in Fire Department Room was laid over to the
next.meeting on motion of James Piper seconded by Geo. W. Kilbern.
It was moved by W.B. Martin and seconded by Geo. W. Kilbern that Mark -Lally Co
be instructed to ship at once to the City of San Luis Obispo, 2300 feet of pipe as pqr
bid . The motion carried.
In re balance of pipe needed :. It was moved by H.A. Gowman and seconded by
James Piper that the-Commissioner of Public Works ascertain the number of feet required ,
also the number of feet on hand and report to the Council at the next meeting.
On motion of James Piper seconded by Geo. V.I. Kilbern the meeting adjourned to
Monday October 24th at 7:30 P.M.

City Council met in adjourned session - Commissioner James Piper presiding.
Present: W.B. Martin , Geo. W. Kilbern , James Piper .
Absent : H.A. Gowman , L.F. Sinsheimer.
The following applications for permit to build were granted on motion of
Geo. A. Kilbern seconded by W.B. Martin :
Clemente Maddalenm -- Garage Block 7 $ 100.00
Henry D. Soper -- Residence Block 3 Mc Brides Tract Cost 1,000.00
Mrs. Della V. Bryant -- Repairs Block 8 " 300.00
W.H. Awalt -- Residence Block 6 " 2,000.00
O.G. Williams -- Garage Block 7 Weills Addn " 60.00
C.R. Dana was granted permit to lay strip of sidewalk 4 1/2 feet wide on
the south side of Islay Street between Broad and Nipomo Street, same to be a continuation
of walk from front steps of building to propetty line.
The application of D.S. Roza for license for Taxicab was referred to the
Commissioner of Public Health & Safety on motion of W.B. Martin seconded by G.W. Kilbern.

Application of the Midland Counties Pub. Serv. Corp'n , # 23, for permit to
set pole and anchor in Alley in La Vina Block , referred to the.Commissioner of.Public 'Works.
Ths arplication of the Santa Maria Gas Co for permit to open trenches at
following locations were granted on motion.of Geo. N. Kilbern seconded by N.B. Martin :
On Osos Street between Monterey Street and Southern Pacific R.R. Track.
eo ° Monterey Street between Johnson Ave. and Essex Street.
" Pismo Street between Osos and Moro Stree=t and on Ella Street between
Johnson Ave and Ruth Street.
The following Seger connections were granted on motion of Geo. N. Kilbern
seconded by N.B. Martin :
Nm.V. Fisk - Toro Street between Pismo and Pacific Street,
w� Robertino Righetti - Santa Rosa Street between Monterey Street and Palm St.
O.J. Belloni - Marsh Street between Broad Street and. Nipom o Street.
The reports of the City Clerk and City Treasurer for the month of September were
received and ordered filed on motion of Geo. N. Kilbern seconded by W.B. Martin.
The following applications of the Mid. Co. Pub. Serv. Corpa for permit to set poles
etc. were granted on motion of Geo. 71. Kilbern seconded by W.B. Martin:
# 19 - On Nipomo street between Villa and Brizzolara Street,
# 19 - " Chorxo Street between Mill and Sycamore Street,
# 20 - " Mill Street between Moro and Broad Street,
# 21 a " Peach Street between Toro and Essex Street and
# 22 - " Broad Street between Islay and Leff Street.
C.A. Younglove addressed the Council relative to the acceptance by the City of
®`w the paving on Broad Street. On motion of Geo. N. Kilbern seconded by N.B. Martin the
City Engineer -was directed to make report on same at the next meeting.
J.H. Miller appeared before the Council relative to the matter of the speed of
,fiJ ,..r automobiles through tunnel under R.R. Right of Nay on Munoz Street. The matter was
referred to the City Attorney for report.
_ J.J. Andre appeared in re Storm Nail in Dana Street. The matter was laid
over for one week; in.the meantime Council and property owners to confer in an effort
to further plans.
I In accordance with the report of the Commissioner of Public Works relative to the
yLaG,� amount of pipe on hand and the amount required , on motion of Geo.W. Kilbern seconded by
N.B. Martin the City Clerk was directed to order an additional 8300 feet of 6" pipe
as per bid of Mark -Lally Co. The motion carried and it was so ordered.
On motion of Geo. N. Kilbern seconded by W.B. Martin the meeting adjourned to
Monday,October 31st at 7:30 P.M.
