Sinsheimer. Absent T.B. Martin , H.A. Gorman. The minutes of February 19th and 26th .were read and ap-proved as read on motion of James Piper seconded by Geo. 17. Kilbern. The following applications for permit to build were granted on motion of Geo. T. Kilbern seconded by James Piper James J. Maino - Residence Lot 2 Block 26 Cost 3000.00 t7.V. Scott - Garage Lot 20 Block 12 Central Addn 100.00 B.J. Andrus - Residence Lot 7 Block 5 Buena Vista Addn 370.00 In accordance with the report of the City Engineer U.B. Burch, the applicat- ion of the Marra Land and Cattle Co for permit to build in Block 13 was granted. Cn motion of Geo. Ti. Kilbern seconded by James Piper the application of G.S. Sartori for permit to connect with the City Sewer on Hutton Street between Sandercock and Branch Street was granted. The application of the _lidland Counties Public Service Corporation for permit to replace poles on Santa Barbera Avenue between Upham and Broad Street -,vas granted on motion of James Piper seconded by Geo. 17. vilbernl with the understanding,that the same does not conflict with the scheme of pole elimination as recently outlined with the City. On motion of Geo. W. Kilbern seconded by James Pir•er the Santa Maria Gas Cc as :permitted to open trenches at the follo:ving locations, viz: On Pismo Street between Santa Rosa and Toro Street " Morro Street between Marsh and Monterey Street " Pismo Street between Essex and S.P.R.R. " T3iguera Street between Santa Rosa and Toro Street • Leff Street between Broad and Nipomo Street • Palm Street between Chorro and Broad Street. • Church Street between Broad and llipomc Street • Santa Barbara Ave between Hi=h and Broad Street T;:e petition of the Valley Electric Company for permit to install two Electric Signs at the Ford Garage was granted with the providion that said installation be made under the supervision of the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety. The report of the City Collector for the month of February was received and ordered filed on motion of Geo. W. Kilbern seconded by James Piper. A com Lmnication was received from S.Jackson Lowe , petitioning the Council ti designate one or more election precincts out side the Mission School District, thereby, enabeling electors of the High School District to exercise th ®ir franchise as provided for in Section 1732 of the political Code. Matter referred to the City Attorney. Cc!r.munication from Leazue of California Municipalities ,relative to certain bills before the Legislature was read. On motion of James Piper seconded by Geo. W. ?i: the City Attorney was directed to draft suitable resolution and present to the Council at the next -tee °ting. On motion of Geo. :7. Kil'r:,ern seconded by JamesPiper the application of Geo. Mc Cabe for rarn!it to pave a strip 168 x 11 feet on the East side of Santa Rosa St between ,i?onterey and Palm Street was granted. The. following petitions of Domination for officers to be elected at the Municipal Election , April 2d. follow : Mayor - L.F. Sinsheimer ; W.T. =eid. Councilman - James-Piper ; Charles Forbes ; 77m.li. Duff ; C.M. Carpenter. City Clerk - Callie M. John. .-School Directors - Chas.A. Palmer;roward E. Kirtland ; S.Jackson Lo:ae. Upon report of the City Clerk that the herairabove named petitions had been verified and found sufficient, it was -moved by Geo. Tv.
