On motion of 371B. Martin seconded by Geo. +d...Kilbern the application of
the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company for permit to set one 30 -ft pole on Monterey
Street between Essex Street and S.P.R.R. was granted.
The merchandising Bond of Frank Gore, Surety -Enos Jones, was referred to
the City Attorney for approval on kotion of Geo..W. Kilbern seconded by W.B. Martin.
The petition of property owners for a Street Light at the corner of
Woodbridge and Lawton.Avenue was - ordered. laid over with other like petitions.
The report of City Engineer , W.B. Burch , that the pavement work on
Garden Street between Higuera - and Marsh Street had -been constructed in accordance with
City Specifications for that type-of work was received and ordered filed on motion of
W.B. Martin seconded. by. Goe. W. • Kilbern.
On.motion.of-W.B.-Martin seconded by Geo. T. Kilbern claims against the
City for the month of March were ordered paid subject to the approval of the heads of the
respective departments.
On motion of TI.E. ! iartin seconded by Geo. WP Kilbern the meeting adjourned
to Thursday, April 5th at 7:30 P.M.

The application of.R.M. Bradbury for permit to lay SO ft 5 ft park Bide
and curbing on the East side of Ida Street between Marsh and Higuera Street was granted on
motion of James Piper seconded by W. B..Mart in.
On motion of H.A. Gorman seconded by W.B. Martin the report of the City
Collector for the month of March was received and ordered filed.
The application of Brunk's Comedians No.l , by P.A. Brunk, for.license.for
theatrical performance, was referred to the Coxmissioner of Public Health and Safety for
report.

secured by Certified.Check in the amount of $ 200.00 , and L.G. Haby & W.C. Long, Surety
London & Lancashire Indemnity Cc of America,were apporved on motion of James Piper seconded
by.W.B. - 11-fartin.
The petition of E.P. Thompson for extension of Water Main on Phillips Lane
( Block 139) Phillips Addition , was referred to the Cosmissioner of Public Works,
Resolution NO- 151 ( New Seriee) , A Resolution granting the.Pacif io Coas
Railway Company a Franchise to build a Spur Track across Pismo and High Streets was:introdu ed
passed and adopted by the following vote:
Ayes : W.B. Martin, H.A. Gowman , James Piper , L.F. Sinsheimer.
Noes : None.
Absent Geo. W. Kilberm.
The application of H. Redmond for license for Soft Drinks at 1371 Monterey
Street was granted.
Communication from Southern Pacific Railroad Company relative to the
matter of opening Kenttwky Avenue 'gas read. City Clerk directed to communicate with
said Company.
The claim of George Mutts in the amount of $ 99.00 for use of Automobile
was under discussion. It was moved by H.A. Goaman and seconded by W.B. !Partin that the
bill be paid. The motion was lost for the lack of a second. Matter laid over to
the next meeting.
The City Clerk presented the returns of the Municipal Election held
April 2nd 1923 , and the Council proceeded to canvass the same and found the following to
be the vote cast at such election

On motion of H.A.Gowman seconded by James Piper , and carried and adopted,
L. A'. Sinsheimer ., having received a majority of the votes cast for Mayor, was declared
elected Hayor of the Cizy of San Luis Obispo. C.M. Carpenter and Charles Forbes
being the two persons receiving the highest vote for Councilmen, were and each of them
-was declared elected Councilmen or the City of San Luis Obispo.;
