The applicationsof W.B. Rcselip, Geo. H. Major and W.Mc Kinney for
appointment as City Engineer ; Mrs. Annie M. Lilley for City Collector and John Pacheco

for Street Sweeper were received and ordered filed on motion of Geo. W. Kilbern seconded
C.M. Carpenter.
On motion of Chas. Forbes seconded by W.B.Yartin and carried the Commissi
era of the respective departments in the City Government were designated as follows:
Commissioner of Finance and Revenue - W.B. ?HRartin ; Commissioner of Public Health and
Safety - C.M. Varpenter ; Commissioner of Public Works - Geo. W. Kilbern;, Commissioner
of Supplies - Chas. Forbes.
In re additional protection on Nipomo Street Bridge rail : Matter re-
ferred to the Commissioner of Public Works.
On motion or W.B. ':artin seconded by C.';i. Carpenter and carried the
Commissioner of Supplies was authorized to purchase 12 ( Twelve) Street Intersection Butt
On motion of C.M. Carpenter seconded by Geo. 17. Kilbern the meeting
adjourned to 'ionday, May 291h at 7:30 P.M.

The application of Luigi Marre Land & Cattle Company for permit to lay a
strip of paving 17 x 50 ft on Morro Street in front of Marre property, extending from
Morro Street Bridge to intersection of 'Morro and Higuera Street was granted on motion of
8has. Forbes seconded by C.M.Carpenter subject to inspection and direction of the City
Engineer.
The application of Geo. W. Reynolds for license for Soft Drinks at 707
Santa Barbara Ave. was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report
Application 56. 64 , '^idland Counties Public Service Corporation, f orpermit
to replace present pole with higher pole on Broad Street between Buchon and Islay Street
was received. On motion of Chas. Forbes seconded by C.M. Carpenter the same was
referred to the City Engineer, to be granted if same is in conformity with map filed with
City. Similar action was taken on application No. 2 of the Pacific Telephone and
Telegraph Company for :pork to be done on Nipomo Street between Higueraand Pacific Street.
The petition of Lra Sinclair for transfer of Merchandising license to
O.B. Vallancey was granted on motion of C.M. Carpenter seconded by W.B. Martin.
The petition of D. Chlentzos for permit to place an electric sign at 1022
"Morro Street was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report.
The petition of F.R.Fanning for permit to place a Board sign at 994 Montere
Street was granted . Sake to be installed under the supervision of the Commissioner
Public Health and Safety.
Petitions were received from property owners on Grove Street between Mill
and Peach Street and on Phillips Lane between Grove and Park Streets requesting that
the said streets be graded and gravelled. On motion of C.M. Carpenter seconded by
o.B.Martin the same were referred to the Commissioner of Public Works.
The report -of the City Clerk for the month of April was received and
ordered filed on motion of W.B. Martin seconded by C.M. Carpenter.
On motion of U.M. Carpenter seconded by W.B. Martin the petition of
R. -I1. Bradbury for Street work on Ida Street between Marsh and Higuera Street was referred
to the CommisssAner of Public Works with power to act as he sees fit.
R.M. Bradbury appeared before the Council and reouested that the Public
Sewer on Marsh Utreet be extended for a distance of about 150 feet. On motion of
C.?4. Carpenter seconded by W.B. .:,.:artin it was ordered that said sewer be extended to
such point as the City r;ngineer determines.
The applications of J.C.James for re- appointment as City Treasurer, and
those of tdward Bavena and C.H.White for appointment on the Police rorce:were received and ..
orde red f iled.
The Merchandising Bond of The Western Auto Supply Co , Sureties S.G.Miles
and B.•H.Wesley, was approved on motion of W.B.Martin seconded by C.M. Carpenter.
The application of I.Ira. Ed 'Helin for license for lodging house at 1131
Broad Street was granted on motion of C.M. Carpenter seconded by V.B. Martin.
Communication from A.E.Chandler relative to Water Development and Supply
for the City of San Luis Obispo was read. On motion of W.B.Martin seconded by
Chas Forbes it ryas ordered that W.L.Huber be employed and directed to continue along the
lines as indicated by Mr.- Chandler.
On motion of W.E. Martin seconded by C.ku. Carpenter-the meeting adjourhed.
