the City of San Luis Obispo make application to the proper authorities for use of same,
and that the Commissioner of Public Forks ascertain cost of putting lot in proper shape
land report at the next meeting. Motion carried.
In re Merchandising Bond of F.M.Jackson: It was moved by C.IrT_.Carpenter
and seconded by Geo. We Kilbern that the matter be referred to the Commissioner of Finance
and Revenue and the City Attorney for collection. Motion lost.
It was moved by C.Iv,.Carpenter and seconded by Geo. We Kilbern that the
City Collector be directed to furnish the Council With report of the delinquents in Street
Work payments
On motion of C.L?.Carpenter seconded by Chas. Forbes the Commissioner of
Public 17orks was to look into the matter of furnishing equipment etc, for the City Engine
and report to the Council.
In the matter of the verbal application of James Piper that the sidewalk
of Sarah Palmer be laid flush with property line it was moved by C.Y.Carpenter and
seconded by Chas. Formes that the matter be laid over for one week.
On motion of Chas. Forbes seconded by Geo. Vie Kilbern the meeting adjournecle

City Council met in regular session- Mayor L.F. Sinsheimer presiding.

Absent : None.
The minutes of June 18th and 25th were read. It was moved by C.II.Carpen
and seconded by W.B.Ilartin that the minutes of June 25th- page 132- be amended to read ,
after the word adopted , - at this meeting ". On motion of C.I.I.Ca rpenter seconded
by Geo. 1"I.Kilbern the minutes were adopted as amended.
On motion of Geo. We Kilbern seconded by Chas. Forbes the following applicat-
ions for permit to build were granted:

Application was received from John Pfleghaar for permit to construct a frame
and iron building.on Lot 2 Block 23 at a cost of 0 1000.00., same to be used as a Soft
Drink Stand. On motion of Chas Forbes seconded by Geo. Vie Kilbern the same was referre
to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report. _
Application of Chas. R. Maier for permit to build a Garage on lot 2 '.'Block 4
was granted on motion of Geo. 1i1. Kilbern seconded by 17.B. i.?artin.

Application of 'Mrs. A* Paiarola for permit to lay 150 ft. of 5 ft park side-
walk and curbing on the East side Morro Street between Palm and Mill Street and 107 fti
full width sidewalk on the North side of 'Palm Street between Morro and Osos Street , part
lot 3 Block 19 , was granted on motion of -47.B. I.1artin seconded by Geo. We Kilberne
The application of the Valley-Electric Company for permit to place an Electri
Sign at the Golden State Hotel and that of Ben J. Sears for permit to install an Electric
Sign at the Anderson-Hotel was granted on motion of Geoo W. Kilbern seconded by Chas. Forbes.
On motion of C.N.Carpenter seconded by Geo. W. Kilbern the report of the Street
.Superintendent - to the effect that the plans submitted by yJ.H.Porter for the construction
of sidewalk etc., on the east 'side of Morro-Street between 'Higuera Street and IuIonterey Ste
are satisfactory, was accepted and approvedo
Communication was received from the 4th of July Committee,-extending an
invitation to the Mayor, Councilmen and City Officials to participate in the Fourth of
July parade. On motion of Gco. W.Kilhern seconded by C.M.Carpenter the invitation was
accepted and the communication ordered on file.
The report of the 'City-Collector for the month of June was received and
ordered filed on motion of 7.B.Kartin seconded by Chas. Forbes.
The applications of Jim Moreno for license for Soft Drinks and Cigars sid
at lo34 Morro Street was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for
investigation and report -on motion of Chas. Forbes seconded by Geo. W. Kilbern.

Application of Mary Berry for license for lodging house at 737.Monterey Str
was before the Council. The Commissioner of Public Health and Safety reported unfavora
on the application and recommended that same be not granted. Mary Berry appeared with
Counsel and the matter was discussed at length. Commissioner Carpenter requested
more time in which to report and the matter was left over to the next meeting.
Joe Milani appeared before the Council with his Attorney H.J.Dubin, in supp
of his application for license for Soft Drinks at 995 Higuera Street. After discussion'
Commissioner Carpenter withdrew his recommendation at a previous meeting , that the applicIat-
ion be not granted , and moved, seconded by rW.B. Martin that the application be granted*
the motion carried.
P.D. Cornelius'and C.C.Hunsaker were again present relative to the opening
Kentucky Avenue. Matter discussed. It was moved by C.M.Carpenter and seconded
by W.B.Martin that the Commissioner of Public Works be directed to obtain through the
services of the City r'Itigineer , estimates of costs, etc., in putting through Kentucky Ave.
The motion carried,
The application of P;rs. Je Fulton & Son for license for 3estaurant at' 1403
Osos Street was granted on motion of C.M,Carpenter seconded by Chas. Forbes.
Upon favorable report of the City Attorney the calim of W.C.Wickended, for a
refund in the amount of $ 7.00 , said amount having been paid for delinquent, Taxes, was
ordered paid on motion of W BeMartin seconded by CoMeCarpenter,

C.M.Carpenter and seconded byW.B.Martin that request be granted and that license be issued
for $ 5.00. Motion withdrawn. Matter further discussed. It was then moved
by Geo. W. Kilbern and seconded by C,M.Carpenter that the license be granted at $ 5.00
per day . 11otion carried.
