City Hail, Monday, August 18th 1924 – 7 :30 P.M. City Council met in regular session – Mayor L.F.Sinsieimer presiding. Present : III.B.Llartin , .C.M.Carpenter , Geo.1l.Kilbern , Chas. Forbes_, L.F. Sinsheimer. Absent : None. The minutes of August 4th and 11th were read and on seconded by W.B.Martin were adopted as amended. On motion of W.B.Martin seconded by Geo.W.Kilbern for permit to build were granted : A.L.Brown - Residence Lots 19 & 20 Block 10 Central Addn Vhno M. On motion of Chas. Forbes seconded by Geo.41."ilbern the matter was eferred to the City Attorney for opinion. The: 28th Annual Report of the Free Public Library for the Fiscal year ending 30th 1924 was received and read. On motion of 1- Y.B.Martin seconded by C.M.Carpenter same was ordered placed on file. The application of Mary Berry for license for lodging House at 737 Monterey tre.et, referred at the last meeting, .... was again ..... .. brought up. Commissioner of Public ealth and Safety reported favorably on the said application and on his ,motion seconded by .B.Martih the application was granted and license ordered issued. Matter of the cancellation.-:of certain licenses was laid over to the next meeting. G.White Newton appeared and requested permission to cut several eucalyptus rees at the south end of Santa Rosa Street at the Southern Pacific Railroad right of way. Matter Deferred to the Commissioner of Public Works for investigation and report. Street Superintendent L.W.Moore reported that three additional manholes were ended in Sewer line on Upper Higuera Street. On motion of C.M.Carpenter seconded by has Forbes the:St. Supt, was directed to install said manholes as outlined. There was discussion in re connecting main water line with the second Dalidio ;Jell It was brought out that Mr Dalidio would bear one half of the cost of the work if concrete pipe were used. It was moved by Geo.W.Kilbern and seconded by W.B.Martin that the City proceed with the work , the expense to be divided equally between Mr. Dalidio and the City. the motion carried.
