City Hall, Monday, September.8th 1924- 7:30 P.M.
City Council met in adjourned session - Mayor L.F.Sinsheimer presiding.
Present : W.B.Martin, C.M.Carpenter, Geo.W. Kilbern, Chas, Forbes, L.F.Sinsheimer.
Absent : None.
On motion of Geo.W.Kilbern seconded by Chas Forbes the following applications

Petition was received from the Valley Electric Company for permit to hang
a sign for Mathews and Carpenter at.'_1027 Chorro Street On motion of Geo,W.Kilbern
seconded by Chas Forbes the application was granted with the provision that work be done
to the approval of the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety.
The petition of the Valley Electric.Company for permit to hang an Electric
at the Roma Restaurant , 879 Monterey Street , was referred to the Commissioner of Public
Health and Safety for report on motion of W.B.Martin seconded by Geo,17.Kilbern.
Communication from the State Board of Health was received and ordered placed
on file on motion of W.B,Martin seconded by Chas Forbes.
Claims of the Vilest Coast Iron and Idetal Yards in: the'. amounts of $ 271.30 and
253.50 for 8° pipe ', were ordered paid on motion of Chas Forbes seconded by Geo.':J.Kil
It was moved by W.B.Martin , seconded by Chas Forbes and carried that
application be made by Resolution to the State Board of Health for permit to use Water from
Dalidio Well No 2 for domestic purposes.
On motion of W.B.Martin seconded by Geo,W,Yilbern the Commissioner of
was authorized to purchase a certain used mowing machine for use at the City Farm.
In re erection of a shed at the City Farm for the storage of Tool, Implements;::
etc. On motion of C.14-Carpenter seconded by Geo.W.Kilbern the Commissioner of
Public 17orks was requested to ascertain an estimate of the cost of same and report to the
Council.
There was discussion relative to the application of Foster and M eiser for
permit to erect a sign Board on lots 1 -2 & 3 Block 11 Weills Addition matter deferred
to the next meeting.
Hamilton Bassett was present and there was discussion relative to his claim
for exemption from payment of City license. On motion of C.M.Carpenter seconded by
W.B.I +Iartin the matter was continued.
Relative to the matter of the passage of an emergency Ordinance, Sept 5th.,
amending Section 1 of Ordinance ido 2 ( New Series ) - providing for an increase in the
salary of the Chief of Police and Health Officer in the amount of N< 100.00 per month:
Kayor Sinsheimer declared that in his opinion no emergency existed; that the passage of the
said Ordinance as an emergency Ordinance was illegal , and for that reason he refused to
sign same, - giving the Council the alternative of passing a new ordinance in regular form
or resorting to Court... ..Discussion followed.
On motion of17.B.Martin seconded by CiM.Carpenter the meeting adjourned,
