City Hall,, Monday, October 20th 1924 - 7 :30 P.me
City Council met in regular session - Mayor L.F.Sinsheimer presiding.
Present : 1-1.P•.i;Iartin,. C.IvI.Carpenter , Chas Forbes, L.F.Sinsheimer.
Absent : Geo,lff.Kilbern.
The minutes of October 6th and 13th were read and approved as read on motion
of C.11.Carpenter seconded by Chas Forbes.
The following applications for permit to build were granted on motion of
Chas Formes seconded by C.I4i.C•arpenter:
John Stich - Residence Lots 1- 2 -10 -11 & 12 Block 2 Weolls Addn Cost 21250.00

The petition of Foster Kleiser Company for permit to remove a portion of
Bill Board now located at the south east corner of Osos and Higuera Streets Block 22 , to
the property of I,iary J. Lowe , Block 17 , at the north west corner of said Streets , was
granted on motion of C.I;I.Carpenter seconded by W.B.Ivia-rtin.
On motion of a7.3.I11artin seconded by C. M. Carpenter the following applicat-
ions for permit to lay sidewalk and curbing were granted :
I,Trs. D. Ketchum - 50 ft of 6 ft park sidewalk and curbing on the east side Santa Rosa Stree
between I;iill and Peach Street.

of 5 ft park walk to conform to That now laid in sAid block.
Applications for permit to connect with the City Sewer were granted the

On motion duly seconded the invitation extended to the Council by the

The petition of LIrs. Mabel ISiller for transfer of licenses for confectione
Lunch and Soft .brinks :at -740 Higuera .Street: to. - R.L.Dennis , was granted on motion of
':7.B.I:7artin seconded by Chas Forbes,
Petition was received from property owners in the vacinity of Essex and
Johnson Streets protesting against the dumping of " Wrecked Automobiles " on certain
property in the said Block. Discussion . 'It was moved by Chas Forbes and
seconded by 17.B.11artin that the petition be placed on file ; That the City Attorney be
requested to advise the Council as to its jurisdiction in the premises. Motion carried.
Relative to retaining .wall in.Creek at the.upper end of Harsh Street :
Discussion On motion of Chas Forbes seconded by C.I,I.Carpenter the City Engineer was
directed to make a survey of the Street and matters connected therewith and ascertain the
costt and report to the Council.

Geo. Moffitt , a property owner at the corner of High and Chorro'Street
appeared before the Council and complained of the manner in which the Power Company had
obstructed entrance to his premises , also of a pole in the same vicinity which he considere
a menace. Discussion. The City Clerk was requested to communicate���with the Power
Company requesting that the menace, also the.obstructions be removed.
The.application of N.B.O'Shea for.license for Wrestling at the Recreation
Center, Higuera Street, Friday night October 24th ., was referred on motion of 1..11.B.Iviartin
seconded by Chas Forbes to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report.
On motion of C.I;i.Carpenter seconded. by W.B.I:Iartin the Commissioner of
is Works was authorized and directed to lay 150 ft of 6" Seger on Toro Street between
and Higuera Street.-
The':;report of the City Clerk for the month of September was-received and
ered filed on motion of Chas Forbres seconded by V-I.B.Martin.
Ordinance No. 106 ( New Series ) ; An Ordinance Amending Section I of
e No. 2 ( New Series ) , of the City of San Luis Obispo entitled, " An Ordinance
the Salaries of the Chief Officials of the City of San Luis Obispo " , was finally
assed on motion of C.E.Carpenter seconded by Chas Forbes , by the following vote :

The application of Vi.A.Bradford for permit to build a Garage on lot 27
Block 61 , also about 90 ft of 5 ft Board Fence, was ga-anted upon favorable report and moti

Upon favorable report and motion of C.M.Carpenter seconded by 47...B. Martin
the application of Gaynell Me Ilmoil and Mabel Snyder for license for Lunch Counter at
corner of Toro and Marsh Street was granted.
Communication of Hamilton Bassett relative to stray animals, pound etc.

If Public Health and Safety was authorized to employ an Assistant Pound master for a period
of two months. The motion carried.
The application of Paul R. Carroll for license for Taxicab was granted on
potion of C.E.Carpenter seconded by W.B.Iiartin.
On motion of W,B.Llartin seconded by C.M.Carpenter the meeting adjourned to
Monday October 27 th at 7 :30 P.Ivle
