HomeMy WebLinkAbout05/21/1925C City Hall, Monday, May 21st 1923 - 7:30 P -M- City Council met in regular session - Mayor L.F.Sinsheimer presiding . Present : W.B. Martin, C.M. Carpenter.-Geo. W. Kilbern, Chas Forbes, L.F. Sinsheimer. Absent.: None. The minutes of May 7th, 14th, 15th- 4 o'clock P.M. and 7:30 P:M. read and arproved as raad on motion of W.B. Martin seconded by Geo. W. Kilbern. The following applications for permit to build were granted on motion of Geo. W. Kilbern seconded by W.B. :N3artin: Stanley Pic Cutchan - Residence and Garage Lots 10•& 11 Block 107 Cost $ 1;500.00 R.U..Bernard - Garage Lots 3 & 4 Block 1-Central Addition " 150.00 R.M.Bradbury - Residence Lot 14 Block 7 Central Addition " 1,000.00 Mercer & Kimball - Roof over Wash Rack Lot 3 Block 114 Reeds Audition " 50.00 The application of Foster and Klelser Co for permit to construct Bill Board 6n Blocks 8,22 & 30 were granted on motion of W,B. Martin seconded by C.M. Carpenter. On motion of W.R. Martin seconded by Chas. Forbes the application of ?Mrs. Ed Melin for license•for lodging house at 1131 Broad Street was referred to the Com- missioner of Public Health and Safety for report. The petition of F.R.Fanning for permit to place a board sign , 10 x•2 , at 984 Monterey Street was denied on motion of 0.2. Carpenter seconded by W.B. Martin. Application of Wm F. Gore for Sewer connection on Broad Street between Sandercock and Branch street was gra nted on motion of Geo. W. Kilbern seconded by Chas. Forbes. Application of the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company No.1 for permit to move poles was referred to the City Engineer ; same to be granted if in conformity wit snap on file. The report of the City Treasurer for the month of April was received and ordered filed on motion of W.B. Martin seconded by Geo. W. Kilbern. Communication was received from Chester E. Jordan, Forest Supervisor, requesting the Council to cooperate -with the Forest Service in the payment of a Guard for the season of 1923- On motion of C.M. Carpenter seconded by Chas. Forbes it ryas ordere that $ 200.00 be appropriated from the City Water Fund for-this purpose. Members of the 'Merchants Association anreared before the Council and requested more adequate police protection for the business district. Matter erferred tol the Commissioner, of Public Health and Safety Application of the Midland Counties Public Service Corporation No. 63 for permit to set 6 poles and 2 anchors on Pismo Street between Osos and Toro Street was grantee on motion of Geo. W. Kilbern seconded by Chas. Forbes. Application of Quong Ung for license for Noodle Parlor on Palm Street was .:. laid over to the next meeting. On motion of C.I. Carpenter seconded by Geo. W. Kilbern the petition of 0.5.Axtell for transfer of license for Restaurant at 1819 Osoe Street to H.E. Mas3ena was granted. The petition of John Ghigliotti for transfer of license for Soft Drinks and Cigars Sideline at 1054 Morro Street -to James Moreno was denied on motion of 0.14. Carpenter seconded by Chas. Forbes.
