Shipsey , representing the Elks Hall gssociation,appeared before the Council relative to the proposed movement of parties at interest to purchase a frontage of three feet on Higuera Street at the corner of Morro and higuera Street, Mathews :.and Carpenter property, Block 104, thereby widening Morro Street sidewalk at this point by three feet. He requested the Council to contribute toward a fund for this purpose. Discussion followed. It was moved by H. .Cox and seconded by John Chapek that the 1dayor appoint one member of the-Council to codperate with members of other committee to devise plan and raise money to pay for frontage of 3 ft on Uiguera Street and widening of sidewalk on Morro Street, I:iayor Sinsheimer named John Chapek to act on the said committee• The application of 9.W.Burns for license for Soft Drinks at 859 Monterey Street was greeted upon favorable report and motion of C.M.Carpenter seconded by Chas Forbesl The applications of the San Luis Furniture Company and L.T.Curtright of the Blackstone Hotel for permit to hang signs at 855 I:Iarsh Street and at 844 I,Ionterey- Street, spectively,wc-re granted on notion of C.I:I.Carpenter seconded by 7.B.Cox, Ordinance Noe 115 ( New Series ) , An Ordinance repealing Ordinance No. 92 ( New Series ), as amended by Ordinance Fo. 94 ( New Series ) and Ordinance ITo. 114 ( New Series ) was intrdduced and passed to print on motion of C.IuI.Carpenter seconded by has Forbes by the folloewing vote: yes C.M.Carpenter, John Chapek, H.~,.Co-, Chas Forbes, L.F.Sinsheimerl oe s None. bsent : None.
