Present : C.vi.Carpenter, John Chapek, H.E.Cox, Chas Forbes, L.F.Sinsheimer. Absent : I.Tone. Bell for permit -to lay 91 ft of full width sidewalk on the south side of Higuera Street between Carmel and Dlarsh Street and 112 feet of 5ft park sidewalk on the west side of Carmel Street between Marsh and Higuera Street, als curbing , was granted on motion of H,E.Cox seconded by. John Chapek. Application of Clara Bolla for license for lodging house at 964 Chorro ;.treet was referred to the Commiss ioner of Public-Health and Safety for report on motion of n.L.Cox seconded by John Chapek. On motion of Chas Forbes seconded by H.:3.0ox the application of Dr.P.0.I::ullik for permit to hang a board sign, ( reflector type lighting ) 8 ft x 5ft at 845 Higuera Street, was referred to the Cor::missioner of Public Health and Safety for report. Application of Joe k:enner for, permit to stand and maintain an Lutomobile stand on the west side of Llorro Street between Higuera and I:iarsh Street between the hours of 10 o'clock n .!e!. , and 10 o'clock P.11,, was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and safety for report, an motion of H.EJ.CO seconded by Chas Forbes. Claim of Vi.J.Tobir_ in the amount of ti,' 3,952.92 , being amount due under ,ontract in accordance with City Engineer's estimate No. 4 for the construction of Sewers ivisior_ " 1 " ,ryas ordered paid on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek. .Request of Gi.J.Duddleson, Chief of Police,:.:for.:vaca;tion of:.,o�e- t7eek-., beginning, onday, October 19th, was a-ranted on motion of Chas Forbes seconded by H.E.Cox. In re apnlication of Ilrshrpnne for permit to Uuildarae on lots 10 & 11 Tracts City Engineer reported relative to proposed constructi of same. hatter discussed. Moved by Chas Forbes and seconded by H..Cox that the application be granted , with the provision that iron posts be used as outlined by the ity engineer. Itlotion carried. Petition of Olive S Wallis for transfer of license for lodging house at 163 Santa Barbara Avenue to !iIrs I;i. od`ers was granted on motion of C.I,;I.Carpenter seconded by Forbes. Communication received from Walter Pfleghaar, Com2nander American Legion Post, lative to Corsmunity Chest , and requesting the Council to appoint a committee to attend a eting October 27th at 8 o'clock P.11. Commissioner Carpenter moved that the ommunication be received a.nd placed on file and that the Idayo-r name a committee to attend ch meeting-. liayof .F.Sinsheir4er ruled the motion out of order. It was then oved by John Chapek and seconded by Chas Forbes that the communication be received and ed on file. I:Iotion carried.
