The petition of J.W.1undy for transfer of lodging House license 1007 Chorro
Street to W.S.Reed was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investi-
gation and report on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by Chas Forbes.
On motion of Chas Forbes seconded by H.E.Cox the application of whistle Bott7
17orks for permit to place a wooden sign on top of building at corner of Carmel and Higuera
Street was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report.
The Ivierchandising Bond of El Momterey Auto Electric Service ( 1, Looney and
J..Delgaard ) , Surety, The Aetna Casualty and Guaranty Company, was approved and the Surety
accepted on motion of Chas Forbes seconded by H.E.Cox.
On motion of H.E.Cox seconded by Chas Forbes the application of G.W*Grey and
E.Roberts for license for Restaurant at R.R.Avenue was referred to the Commissioner of
Public Health and Safety for report.
On motion of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek the applications of J.R.Robascio
for license for Soft Drinks and Cigars Sideline at 875 Monterey Street were referred to the
Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report.
Applications of A.Bolla for license for Cigars Sideline, Billiards and Pool
and Soft Drinks at 890 Monterey Street , were referred, on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by
Chas Forbes , to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report.
Petition of J.F.Harrington et al, protesting against the proposed pavement
of Mill Street between Osos and Morro Street receivedq Discussion. On moti -on of
.M.Carepnter seconded by H.E.Cox it was ordered that the petition be received and placed
on file.
Petition of FI.H.Porter et al, relative to the improvement of Murray Avenue
between Grand Avenue and Turner Avenue and Park Street between Murray Avenue and Phillips
Lane, also matter in re culvert was laid over one week.
The reports of the City Treasurer for the mont# of February and thole of the
City Collector and Police Judge for the month of March were received and ordered filed on

Communications from F.YI,Richardson, Governor of the S6ate of California and
IvI,Toy,Chairman California Highway Commission, acknowledging receipt of Resolution No
92 ( New Series) read, and ordered filed on motion of C.M.Carepnter seconded by H.E.Cox.

City Council met in regular session - Mayor L.F.Sinsheimer presiding.

The minutes of March 15th 22d and 29 th were read and approved as read on
motion of Chas Forbes seconded by C.I1.Carpenter.

On motion of H.E.Cox seconded by C,IT.Carpenter the application of Adams and
Maha for permit to erect a six foot lattice fence on lot 6 Block 24 was granted.

San Luis Ice & Cold Storage Co -. To open trench on High Street between Walker and Higuera
Street for purpose of lowering Sewer line.

puroose of repairing sewer.

Petition received from Albert Nelson et al, praying for the improvement of
Palm Street between Chorro Street and the intersection of Palm and Monterey Streets, with
a six inch cement concrete pavement, together with curbs and sidewalks where necessary.
Said work to be done under the Street improvement Act. Discussion. On motion of
C.M.Carpenter sew nded by H.E.Co$,the petition was received and placed on file.
On motion of C.MwCCarpenter seconded by Chas Forbes the City Engineer was
directed to present to the Council, at the next meeting,a sketch showing relative position
and location of the (Monterey Street Storm Drain, together with recommendations for the
improvement.
Claims against the City for the month of March were ordered paid subject to the
approval of the heads of the respective departments , on motion of Chas Forbes seconded by
John Chapek.
Application of Paul S. Roberts for license.for Restaurant at 962 Monterey S
was granted on favorable report and motion of C.M.Carpenter seconded by Chas Forbes, as
was also, the application of A.Lange for license for Lodging House at 997 Higuera Street,
( Midway Hotel).
On favorable report and motion of C.I:I.Carpenter seconded by Chas Forbes the
petition of Clara Bolls. for transfer of license for lodging House at 964 Chorro Street to
Joe Duehi was granted.

Application of Addison Q.Chong for permit to hang an Electric Sign at 798 Palm
Street ( Chong's Mandarin Cafe ) , granted on motion of C.I:I.Car penter seconded by H.E.Cox.
Application of Foster Kleiser Co for permit to place a sign Board on Marre
on Chorro Street between Eiguera and Monterey Street again taken up. Discussion.
It was moved by C.M.Carpenter and seconded by John Chapek that the application be granted,
(with the provision that construction be in accordance with Ordinances of the City and under
the direction of the City Engineer. The motion carried.
Resolution No. 193 ( New Series ) in re " Fiesta de las Flores" was introduce
and adopted on motion of C.M.Carpenter seconded by Chas Forbes by the following vote:
Ayes : C,I& Carpenter, John Chapek, H.E.Rox, Chas Formes, L.F.Sinsheimere
Noes : None.
Absent: None.
Petition received from Veterans' Welfare Board praying for the cancellation of
taxes in the amount of $ 1.76 now appearing on the records of the City as a lien against
Lot 3 Block 7 Central Addition , assessed in 1925 -1926 in the name of R.C. and Ella M. Hoyt,
title to said property now being vested in the Veterans' l,Velfare Board. Discussion.
On motion of :;Chas.:,Forbes_- seconded by Cil-I.Carpenter the City Clerk was authorised and
directed to cancel the said lien in the amount above stated.
On motion of C.M.Carpenter seconded by Chas Forbes the meeting adjourned to
Monday, April 12th at 7:36 P.M.
