City Council met in adjourned session - Mayor L.F.Sinsheimer presiding.
Present : C.I.I.Carpenter, John Chapek, H.E.Cox, Chas Forbes L.F.Sinsheimer.
Absent ; None.
The following applications for permit '.to build were granted on motion of
H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek:
Laurence Leitner - Residence lot 19 Block 201 cost.4 20500.00
Thos. P.Izard - Garage lots 29 &,30 Block 25 Cost 375.00

On motion of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek the following applications for
permit to lay sidewalk and curbing were granted:
J.J.Andree - 110 ft 5 ft park sidewalk and curbing on the south side of Dana
Street west of Nipomo Street, .
Angelina K. Andre . - .50 ft 5 ft park sidewalk and curbing on the south side Dna Street
West of Ilipomo Street,
Effie E. Brewer - 100 ft 5 ft park sidewalk and curbing on the south side Dana Stre
west of iiipomo Street,
Annie M. Lilley 70 ft full width sidewalk on the north side Marsh Street between
Nipomo Street and Carmel Street.
Application of Frances L. Vermazen for permit to connect with the City Sewer
pn Peach Street between Ida and Grove Street was granted on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by
John Chapek.
The following applications of Foster & Kleiser Company for permit to place
advertising sign Boards at the following named locations were referred to the Commissioner
of Public Health and Dafety for report on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek:

The petition of Clem Iviaddalena, et.al. requesting that a Street sight be
installed on Pacific Street between Beach and Carmel Street was referred to the Commissi
ff Public Works for investigation and report on motion of C.I1. Carp enter seconded by John C
Petition received from VI.O.Cosby for permit to install dtiveways, etc at
service Station corner I:iarsh and Idipomo Streets -. Discussion. On motion of
C.i:I.Carpenter seconded by H.E.Cox the petition was held over for one week pending more
detailed description, and referred to the City Engineer for report to the Council.

A Bill of Sale from the I-iestern Union Telegraph Company, conveying to the City
of San Luis Obispo Four (4) poles along Pismo Street together with all anchors, guys and
other appurtenances thereunto belonging as the.same now - exists, for the sum of $1.00,
was received and accepted, and warrant in the amount of $ 1.00 ordered drawn in payment
thereof, Location of Poles purchased : Three (S) poles on Pismo Street from the inter-
section of High and Higuera Street to a point just northeast of ',talker Street. One (1)
pole at the southeast corner of Pismo and Chorro Street,
Applications of H.H.Page for permit to erect two buildings on:a part of lot 4
Block 52 were received. These applications were submitted in lieu of those filed by
Geo. W.Skiles Dec 6th. Discussion. On motion of H. .Cox seconded by C.I:I.Carpenter
the applications were referred to the City Engineer and the City Attorney for investigation
and report to the Council.
On motion of H.".Cox seconded by John Chapek the application of the ':testern
Auto Supply Company for permit to place a sign on top of a building at the corner of
Higuera and I -Iorro Streets ( Mathews & Carpenter Bldg) was laid over for one week for more
detailed information.
The petition of Margaret Davis for transfer- of license for St James Hotel Lo
House to !.Irs. I.'.L.Crosswite was granted on :favorable report and motion of C.I,_.Carpenter

1025 Court :a__e.ot was granted on favorable re Dort and motion of C.I;I.Carpenter seconded by
application of roster & kleiser Company for permit to erect a sign toard on Lot
8 & 9 Block 1049 Higuera Street between I:lorro and Osos Street , was again laid over for one
week. -
The applications of Arthur Schmidt and IsI.J.10allaghan for permit to lay 4 ft park
sidewalk on Dana Street were granted on motion of u.E.Cox seconded by Chas Forbes with the
provision that the said sidewalk be 5 ft in width.
A Deed from Chris anholm and Johanne L.Anholm conveying a certain strip of
land to the City of San Luis Obispo for Street purposes was received,;. City ngineer to
view property and City Attorney to bring resolution of acceptance for the next meeting.
There was discussion relative to,the matter of uniforms for Police Officers.
On motion of C.I�.I.Carpenter seconded by H.E.Cox the Commissioner of Supplies was
authorized and directed to purchase such Badges, as in his discretion are needed, for the
Police Department.
On motion of ii.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek the Comanissioner of Public health
and Safety was authorized to employ an additional Police 0 -ficer temporarily, at a salary
of $ 125.00 per month.
On motion of H..Cox seconded by John Chapek the meeting adjourned.
