Present : Chas Forbes, H.E.Cox, John Chapek, L.F.Sinsheimer. Absent : L.J.Defosset. The minutes of December 19th and 26th were read and approved as read on motion of Chas Forbes seconded by H.E.Cox. On motion of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek the following applications for permit to build were granted : H.C.Hinsman - Residence & Garage lot 15 Block 2 Break Tract Cost 2,500900 Mary_V. Higuera - Store Room Block 4 Weills Addn Cost 25.00 Roy L. & Lillie B. Dennis - Repairs lot 8 Block 4 Southside Addn Cost 150000 VJ.M. Neely - Two room house North .Broad Street Cost 500.00 Mary Berry - Repair porches Block 10 Cost 200.00 The application of Ivioses A. Lubrin for license for Pool Room at 761 Palm Street was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report to the Council, on notion of Chas Forbes seconded by H.E.Cox. Applications of J.Heuer and Geo, W.Gilbern for permit to connect with the City Sewer on Upham Street between Ruth Street and Santa Rosa Street,and on Upham Street between Broad Street and High Street , respectively, were granted on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek. Claims against the City for the month of December were ordered paid subject to approval of the heads of the respective departments on motion of Chas Forbes seconded by .E.Cox. On motion of Chas Forbes seconded by John Chapek, Mayor Sinsheimer was was uth9rized and directed to sign certain papers presented by Mrs Queenie Warden. Estimate No. 1 for work performed under Contract " Division N Sewers " by .H.Porter,'Contractor , in the amount of $ 1,671.22 was presented, and on'motion of Chas Forbes econded by H.E.Cox a warrant was ordered drawn and bill paid. In re Auto for Engineering Department: It was moved by-H.E.Cox and seconded by has Forbes that the Commissioner of Supplies enter into negotiations for the purchase of a automobile for the Engineering Department and report to the Council. Motion carried. There was discussion relative to an Ordinance covering meat inspection. Matter of a subdivision Map presented by the City Engineer was laid over.
