The petitions of the Freeman Sign Service, I.E.Burbank & O.F.Hazard and
Geo.N.Leland for permit to place signs as set forth in the petitions on file, were granted ,
on favorable report and motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by H.E.Cox, with the usual provisions.
On motion of. H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek the meeting adjourned to I,Ionday,

On motion of H.E.Cox seconded by L.J.Defosset, D.L.Roman.etti was permitted to lay

The report of the City Treasurer for the month of January, was received and orde

City Engineers Estimate No, 4 for work performed under contract " Division N
I Sewers ", by W,H.Porter, contractor, for the sum of $ 465.60 was submitted, and on motion of
H.E.Cox seconded by L.J.Defosset a warrant was ordered drawn for the said amount and the
bill paid.
The petition of the Home Dairy Company for permission to install and operate a
e horsepower steam bioler, at 919 Higuera Street was granted on motion of L.J.Defosset
econded by H.E.Cox.
The petitions of S.C.Brisco for permit to place Two Lletal Enamel Signs at Service

On motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by E.E.Cox the petition of Mabel D. Snyder
for transfer of license for lunch counter at 1177 Ielarsh Street to Ida C. Cox was granted.
The application of Geo.W,Kilbern for permit to build a service station on a part

The application of the.B..& H.Restaurant for license for Cigars Sideline at 717
Higuera Street was granted on motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by H.E.Cox.'
Petition of Caeser Anziani et al. foi- the improvement of Buchon Street between Beach
and Carmel Streets by paving was again brought up and on motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by
H.E.Cox the petition was ordeaed filed with other petitions of like nature.
The petitions of Chris and George Anholm for.Sewer in Anholm Addition, and of
Lawrence Austin in re abandonment of Auto Park were laid over until all members of the Council
are present.
Resolution Igo. 251 ( New aeries ), A Resolution accepting a Deed from William
Sandercock and Adelaide V. Sandercock , for property known as ".:Miller and Lux Laguna Property "i
was introduced and adopted on motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by H.E.Cox by the following vote :1
Ayes : Chas Forbes, L.J.Defosset, H.E.Cox.
Noes : None.
Absent : John Chapek, L.F. Sinsheimer.
It was moved by L.J.Defosset and seconded by H.E.Cox that Mayor L.F.Sinsheimer
enter into any further negotiations necessary with Mr. Sandercock for the purehase of the
'::Miller and Lux Laguna Property, and that he direct the City Clerk to draw warrant for the
amount involved in the transaction. The motion.carried.
On motion of L.J. Defosset seconded by H.E.Cox the following licenses were order
