Present : Chas Formes, H.3.Cox, John Chapek, L.F.Sainsheimer. Absent : L.J.Defosset. On motion of H.B.Cox seconded by Chas Forbes the following applications for permit t( lay sidewalk and curbing were granted, with the provision that the improvement conform to other sidewalks in the surrounding blocks: .V!ilson 64aeh - 50 ft full width side walk on the west side Morro Street between Church Street and Upham Street. 59.23 ft of full width sidewalk on the west side Broad Street between Street and Sandereock Street and 79.75 ft of 5 ft park seidewlk on the South side of Sandercock Street between .3road Street and Story Street. On motion of John Chapek seconded by H.E.Cox the communication of San Luis Obispo oard of Education, by A.H.Mabley, expressing thanks to the Council for its action in providing t cost , pipe and labor necessary for laying water mains across new High School grounds, was red received and placed on file. R.Bassi petitioned the Council for permit to cut four pepper trees at the junction guera and French Streets. On motion of H.B.Cox seconded by John Ch_.pek the application s granted with the provision that other ornamental trees be planted in place of those removed. The petition of A.H.Brazil, Attorney, for the Estate of Cornelius Van Proyen, for ransfer of licenses for Billiards and Pool, Cigars Sideline and Iddse( Confetc. Soft Drinks etc t 885 IvlonterpF Street to Paul Sada and Frank Barcellos was referred, to the Cormaissioner of blic Health and Safety for report to the Council. The report of the City Treasurer for the month of Yarch was received and ordered on le on motion of Chas Forbes seconded by H.E.Cox. On motion of Chas Forbes seconded by H.B.Cox the following merchandise Bonds were ordered cancelled, the principals having fulfilled obligation under said bonds: T.Tanaka - Iddse ( Fruit and Vegetables ); ,_rs. Hudson, Edse ( Groceries ) ; C.J.Bassi & 0.W.Birra - I•,Idse ( Hard;,,rare & Implements ) ; Safeway Store Inc.- Mdse ( Groceries ) ; A.J.Bennett - Mdse i Delicatessen Goods ) and Ed Leitner- I;Idse ( Potato Chips ). ) , 1 1 1 1 1 33 In a communication F.J.Bollinger, Chief of Police, reported relative to the accident in which an employee of I.L.Ryder, Contractor on lower Higuera Street Improvement, broke a hydrant on Lower Higuera btreet;. It was moved by H.B.Cox and seconded by Chas Forbes that the communication be placed on file ; that the cost of repairing the damaged hydrant be charged to, and collected from I.L.Ryder, Contractor. The motion carried. ' The petition of W.L.Ramage for the cancellation of a delinquent Tax Sale against lots 3 & 4 Block 4 Ieills Addition for the year 1925 - 19216 was denied on motion of Chas Forbes seconded by John Chapek.. 1 1 s : Chas Forbes , H.E.Cox, John Chapek . Trumble, was approved and the surety accepted on motion of Chas Forbes seconded by H.L.Cox. ' In a communication E.od.Lawrence pledged 50.00 toward the cost of grading and' graveling Kentucky Avenue between Peach Street and Second Streets, in case there is a shortage by the School District. The communication was received and ordered filed with other data on the subject, on motion of H.1�',.Cox seconded by Chas Forbes, The petition of F.D.Silvia et al, for the improvement of a part -of Kentucky Avenue and.a part of Second Street by grading and graveling was granted on motion of H.F.Cox seconded by Chas Forbes , cost thereof to be charged to property owners. The petition of the Southern Pacific Company and Fete Bachino for the abandon - iment of a certain portion of Rachel.Street was taken up. idatter discussedg and it was move( by Chas Forbes and seconded by H.3.Cox that the City of Ban Luis Obispo take necessary pro- ceedings looking to the.abandonment of that certain portion of Rachel Street provided that , the sum of a 250.00 be deposited with the City in payment of the City's interest. The motion carried. The petition of i•l.J.Charters, contractor for I1ary A. O'Reilly, for sewer coilnectioa on Liurray Avenue between I;Ionterey Street and Henderson Avenue, was referred to the Co:amissioner of Public �.orks for report to the Council on motion of John Chapek seconded by Chas Forbes.
