City Hall, T,Ionday, flay 14th 1928 - 7:30 F.Id.
City Council met in adjourned session.- Mayor L.F.Sinsheimer presiding.
Present : Chas Forbes, L.J.Defosset, H.E.Cox,.John Chapek, L.F.Sinsheimer.
Absent : None.
The following applications for permit to build were granted on motion of H.E.Cox
seconded by Chas Forbes :
Theo. I:I.1,Iaino - Bowling Alley & Amusement Parlor Block 164 Cost 22,000.00
J.A.Stebbins Residence lot 1 Block 10 Anholm Tract 3,000.00
Rodney V. Johnson - Remodel Store Front Block 10 19800.00
Guy 11. Baldwin - Improvements Block 61 400.00
R.R.Long - Addn to Garage lot 6 Block 97 60.00
The application of Albert Pedranti for permit to lay 100 ft of 5 ft park sidewalk,
curbing and gutter oil the North side of Peach Street between Osos and Santa Rosa Street was
granted on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by L.J.Defosset.
On motion of Chas Forbes seconded by John Chapek the application of F.T.Takumi for
license for Soft Drinks at 866 Palm Street was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health
and Safety for report to the Council.
The request - of.the Fiesta Dea.oraton Committee, by Chas J. Telly , for permit to use
Flags etc., owned by the City*, for decoration of Streets during the period of the Fiesta, was
granted on motion of Chas Forbes seconded by L.J.Defosset.
On motion of Chas Forbes seconded by H.E.Cox the following applications for permit
to hang signs were referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report to the
Council :

and J.Barneberg Board Sign at Quality Super Service Station.
The application of Fester & Kleiser Company for permit to erect a Three panel sign
board at Higuera and Carmel Streets- was granted on motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by Chas

permit to place a L:arquee , also andelectric sign at 874 Higuera Street was granted , as was alto,
his application -for license for lodging House at the same location.
On motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by Chas Forbes the application of I:irs.T. Urushima
or license for Mdse ( Soft-Drinks etc ) at 156 Higuera Street was granted .
On motion .of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek the following applications for permit
to connect with the City Sewer were granted :
J.E. Duel - Johnson Street hetween 1st Street and 2d Street,
hirs. H.C.Hathway - Johnson Street between 1st Street and 2 d Street.
This being the time and place fixed by the Council, in accordance with published
tics, for receiving Bids for the construction of an Outfall line and a Sewage Disposal Plant,
ans and specifications for which were adopted by the Council April 16th 1928 , the following
is a list- of.all Bids received, which were publicly opened and read:
