City Council met in adjourned session - . =ayor L.F.Sinsheimer presiding. .Present : Chas Forbes, L.J.Defosset, H.".CaK. John Chapek, L.F.Sinsheimer. Absent : !,,one. The following *applications for permit to build were granted on motion of 'H.E.Cox seconded by Chas Forbes C.n.Kamm Office Building pt lots 5 &: 6 Blk 86 i.i.V:Tr4ct E.J.Bowles - addition Garajo- pt lots 14 a 15 Blk 1 Hathway Addn 211 Cost $ 29500.00 Cost 50.00 Leeman, L.t -J. - Sleeping Torch lot 2 Blk 187 B Ingleside Tract Cost 100.00 Application of the l- destern Union Telegraph Company for permit to remodel front of building at corner of I:onterey and Court Streets was granted on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek. Application of Catherine '�.ineman for permit to erect a Idlarquee over entrance to Wineman Hotel, granted on motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by H.E.Cox. On motion of H.E.Cox seconded by L.J.Defosset the application of .J.Bowles for permit to remove a small house from part of lot 5 & 6 Block 86 .IissionvVineyard Tract to a part bf lots 14 (1 15 Block 1 Hathway .addition was granted, i ?12 On motion of Chas Porbes seconded by L.J.Pefosset final passage of Ordinance 1;o. 142 (Thew Series ) was laid over for further consideration. Bids for the improvement of Santa =;osa and other Streets, under - Eesolution of Intenti Da. 311 ( New Series ), which were received April 21st 1930, and which were taken under advise- ment, were now taken up. Discussion. It was moved by John Chapek that all 1:•ids receive be rejected. r -or the lack of a second the motion was declared lost. Further discussion. It was ;:loved by H.E.Cox that contract be awarded to the lowest bidder, Irving L. Ryder. The motion lost for the lack of a second. It was then moved by John Chapek and seconded by L.J.Defosset that consideration of Bids, received on April2lst 1930, for'the improvement of Oanta osa and other Streets, under Eesolution of Intention No. 311 (Ne* -i! Ueries), be postponed to the hour of the date set for the next adjourned meeting of the Council. The motion carrie The petition of ?.irs. Eleanor J. Swinnerton for permit to construct a Dam in Stenner Creek was granted on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by L.J.yefosset. :'6 lative to the petition of Frank Carvao et al for the improvement of Grove and other streets: City Engineer reported on cost of various types of pavement. Discussion. It was moved by L•.J.J'efo, =set and seconded by John Chapek that the petition be referred back to petitioners with reco::mendation that type of pavement be left to the Council for the reason that a pavement at 16J does not seem to be available to the Council. The motion carried. In re Service Station of S.i..Alderson at 396 Santa -Rosa : Street : Discussion. It was ,loved by L.J.Defosset and seconded by Chas Forbes that S._:i.Anderson be notified to hold to per:ait issued; that said S.i:A.,?n.derson be requested to re:aove improvement and install that for which he was given per,:it. The motion carried. There was discussion relative to the improvement of Garden Street. On motion of L.J.Lefosset seconded by Chas Forbes the meeting adjourned to Thursday, Lay 1st 1930 at 7:3O o'clock.
