The matter of a proposal to amend the Charter was continued to the next meeting, and matters pertaining to the City Election were discussed. On motion of Chas. Forbes seconded by L. J. Defosset it was ordered that the consolidation of Election Precincts for the General liunicipal Election to be held in the Ci=ty of San'Luis Obispo on the 6th day of April, 1931 for territory within and without the City of San Luis Obispo-remain the same as at the last General .11unicipal Election. on motion of Chas. F..Sinsheimer presiding. Present: Chas. Forbes, L. J. Defosset, H. E. Cox, John Chapek, L. F. Sinsheimer. Absent : None. The minutes of I.iarch 2nd : nd 9th were read Lind approved as read on motion of L. J. Defosset seconded by Chas. Forbes. The application of Lawrence liYalton for permit to build a Pesidence and Garage on Lot 29, Caudill Tract No. 2, at a cost of :;3600.00 - was granted on motion of H. E. Cox seconded by John Chapek. The application of I:iargaret S. I'lickenden for permit to reconstruct 25 feet of full width sidewalk on the south side of T "onterey Street between Chorro Street and ;_�orro Street, Block 13, was granted on motion of H. Cox seconded by John Chapek. On :.otion of H. F. Cox seconded by John Chapek the folloloing applications for permit to connect with the City sewer were granted: Lawrence Walton, Lawton Street between '-Noodbridge Street and Mitchell Drive. Nelson & Green, two stub sewers, Islay Street between Broad Street and Garden Street. The application of Joe Duchi for license for Lodging House at 964 Chorro Street was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report to the Council on motion of Chas. Forbes seconded by H. E. Cox. The applic -ation of C. D. Stowe for permit to install four 10,000 gallon under- ground Gasoline Storage Tanks at the Aut -O -Tel Service Station corner French Street and Higuera Street was received and on motion of H. E. Cox seconded by John Chapek the petition was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report to the Council. The request of San Luisita Parlor, Native Daughters of the Golden ''Jest for permit to sell poppies on the streets of the City on I; ?arch 21st, 1931,.was granted on motion of 2x90 L, J, Defosset seconded by Chas, Forbes. The applications for the regular quarterly licenses were presented and on motion of t. �. Cox seconded by Chas. Forbes were referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safet17 for investigation and report to the Council. Ordinance No. 149 (New Series) , An Ordinance establishing grades on portions of Lizzie Street, Upham Street, Spring Street and Fixilini Street in the City of San Luis Obispo, was finally passed on motion of L. J. Defosset seconded by John Chapel by the following vote: Ayes Chas. Forbes, L: J.-Defosset, H. E. Cox, John Chapek. L. F. Sinsheimer. Noes None. Absent: None. Ordinance No. 150 (Neer Series), An Ordinance amending Ordinance No. 76 (New Series) by adding thereto, a new Section to be numbered 652, was finally passed on motion of Chas. Forb seconded by L. J. Defosset by the following vote: Ayes Chas. Forbes, L. J. Defosset, H. E. Cox, John Chapek:, L. F. Sinsheimer. ?does None. Absent: None. The petition of H. C. Ivey, et al., for the improvement by paving of Beach Street between High Street and Buchon Street, and, of L. A. Danielson, et al., for the improvement by paving of Archer Street between Iarsh Street and Pismo Street were ordered filed with other petitions of like nature, to be taken up at some future time in conjunction with some other paving project. The application of H. C. knight for permit to lay 50 feet of 3 foot Park sidewalk in Norton Addition was again laid over pending the establishment of grades in that Addition. Ordinance No. 151 (New Series), An Ordinance establishing grades on portions of Lawton Street, Funston Street and 'Soodbridge Street, was introduced and passed to print on motion of Chas. Forbes seconded by H, E. Cox, by the following vote: Ayes . Chas. Forbes, L. J. Defosset, H. E. Cox, John Chapek. Noes . None. Absent: None. The application of Cline's Electric Shop for permit to install a Neon Electric Sign at the Pioneer I. arke•t corner of !Jarsh Street and I:Iorro Street was again laid over. The petition of Fred H. Metzler for permit to install a wooden sign flush with the building at 1017 Chorro Street was granted on motion of L. J. Defosset seconded by Chas. Forbes with the provislon.that the sign be hung in accordance %.rith the provisions of the Ordinance and under the supervision of the City.Engineer. Application of the !.7idland Counties. Public Service Corporation No. 191 for permit to o certain work on Chorro Street between Monterey Street and Sycamore Street and on Palm Street etween Broad Street and Llorro Street, as set forth in application on file, was continued to the next meeting of the Council. The City Attorney was directed to communicate with.those delinquent for the payment )f license and urge that settlement be made with the City. The matter of appointing Precinct Officers for the respective Polling Places occupied he attention of the Council. The Election Proclamation for the General Municipal Election nd Consolidated Bond Election to be held in the City of San Luis Obispo on the 6th day of pril, 1931, was adopted on motion of H. E.
