City Council met in Special Called session for the purpose of taking such action as the Council may be advised in reference to Ordinance No. 152 (New Series) concerning the bonding of the City of San Luis Obispo for certain improvements in the sum of Thirty Thousand (030,000) Dollars, introduced and passed to print I,Iarch 16th,. 1931 and for the purpose of considering and acting upon such other and further matters as may properly come before said meeting. Mayor L. F. Sinsheimer.- presiding. Fresent: Chas. Forbes, L. J. Defosset, H. E. Cox, John Chapek, L. F. Sinsheimer. Absent : None Ordinance No. 151 (New Series), An Ordinance establishing grades on portions of Lawton Street, Funston Street and Woodbridge Street was finally passed on motion of Chas. Forbe seconded by H. E. Cox by the following vote: Ayes Chas. Forbes, L. J. Defosset, H. E. Cox, John Chapek. L. F. Sinsheimer. Noes None. Absent: None. Ordinance No. 152 (New Series), Calling a special election and submitting to the qualified electors of the City of San. Luis Obispo the proposition of incurring a debt and bon said City for certain municipal improvements and consolidating said Election with the General Municipal Election to be held in said City on the 6th day of April, 1931, was finally passed on motion of Chas. Forbes seconded by John Chapek by the following vote: Ayes Chas. Forbes, L. 'J. Defosset, H. E. Cox, John Chapek. L. F. Sinsheimer. Noes None. Absent: None. The Claim of Irving L. Ryder, Contractor for the construction of Santa Rosa, French and Chorro Street Bridges in the City of San Luis Obispo, in the amount of $4,680.13, being amount due, or the 25% with -held for a period of thirty =five days after acceptance of said work in accordance with Estimate No. 5 of Vlarren B. Burch, 'Engineer in charge, was ordered paid, on motion of H. E. Cox seconded by L. J. Defosset. Applications for the regular quarterly license were granted on motion of L. J. Defosse seconded by John Chapek. The following applications for permit to build were granted on motion of H. E. Cox seconded by John Chapek: C. L. Sauer - Medical Building, lot 2. Block 97, U.V.Tract Cost 10,000.00• :. A. blaino - Store Building, lots 1 and 2, Block 99, I:I. V. Tract Cost 9,000.00 S. Pleasanton Square Cost 3,500.00 On motion duly seconded and carried, the following applications for license were referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report to the City Council. Oldham, Cigar Sideline, 911 Branch Street. The application of it'!aryln Jeanne Hamilton for license for Astrology at Civic Auditori 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 293 was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report to the Council. The petition of -N. Casulli for transfer of license of Merchandise (Groceries) at 911 Branch Street to L. 3. Oldham was granted on motion of L. J. Defosset seconded by H. L. Cox. The Merchandising Bond of E. 0. Johnson, ,Surety, Id. Green, was received and on motion of L. J. Defosset seconded by John Chapek the Surety was accepted and the Bond approved. Communication received from Dr. ::. A. Gallup, representing the County Itedical Society, relative to the parking of automobiles: the matter was laid over for further consideration. City Clerk instructed to bring up the matter at some future tile. The petitions of the Valley Electric Company for permit to install a Neon Electric Sign for E. L. O'?eilly, Court Street and Higuera Street, and of S. E. Hogue for permit to hang a Wooden Sign at 1026 Morro Street were referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report to the Council. ApL- lication of Foster & Keiser Company for permit to erect a two panel sign board on part of lot 8 and 9. Block 104, 1,1. V. Tract, Higuera Street between iaorro Street and Osos Street was referred to the Commissioner of.Public Health and Safety for investigation and report to the Council. Petition of Chas. FJ. Fairbanks for permit to break pavement 2+ x 30, on Higuera Street between French Street and South Street in order to make sevier connection for Francis Garage at 156 Higuera Street was ordered granted on motion of H. E. Cox seconded by L. J. Defosset with the provision that the work be done under the supervision of the City Engineer. The petition of E. 1j. Payne for permit to break pavement 2+ x 4+ on Higuera Street between Chorro Street and Garden Street to make sewer connection for the John Norton Building was laid over to the next meeting. The petition of E. E. Burriss for permit to install a 10,000 gallon gasoline storage tank at Service Station corner Garden Street and Irarch Street was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report to the Council. The following applications for permit to connect with the City Sewer were granted on motion of H. E. Cox seconded by L. J. Defosset. Chas. L. Seeley, Islay Street between Santa Rosa Street and Toro Street. (Stub Sewer) Sandercock, Islay Street between Beach Street and Nipomo Street. " �+ C. W. Defosset seconded by H. E. Cox. The petition.of C. D. Storre for permit to install four 10,000 gallon under- ground gasoline storage tanks at the Aut =O -Tel- Service Station, corner French Street and Higuera Streei was granted on motion of L. J. Defosset seconded by H. E. Cox with the provision that the work be done under the supervision of the City Engineer and in accordance with rules and regulations of the Board of Fire Underwriters.
