Obispo on the 6th der of April, 1931, was introduced and adopted on motion of John Chapek seconded by H. B. Cog by the fallowing vote: Ayes : L. J. Defosset, H: B. Cog, John Chapek, L. F. Sinsheimer. Noes : None. Absent: Chas. Forbes. On motion of L. J. Defosset seconded by H. E. Cox the meeting adjourned to I:Ionday, April 13th, 7:931, at 7 :30 P.I. ?. Ayes : L. J. Defosset, H. E. Cox seconded by 1. J. Defosset, with the provision that the w be done under the supervision of the City Engineer, and, that the pavement be restored to its original condition. Petition received from Olive B. I:Iartin for permit to corulect with City Sewer, on Csos Street between Monterey Street and Higuera Street. The matter was referred to the City rnginee who was directed to bring sketch of the best way to do the work and an estimate of cost. The petitions of Ir. Davidson for permit to install stub sewer on Islay Street between Caramel Street and Beach Street and of Carl L. Schultz for permit to install stub sewer on Islay Street between Nipomo Street and Broad Street were granted on motion of H. R. Cox seconded by John Chapek. The petition of the Pacific. Telephone and Telegraph Company for permit to do certain work on I;iission Street between Almond Street and Chorro Street and of the Lidland Counties Public Service Corporation for permit to do certain work on Islay Street between Osos Street and Chorro Street as set forth in application on file, were referred to the Commissioner of Public forks for investigation and report to the Council. The petition of Joseph Leary relative to Police Officers Relief was received and re- ferred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report, on motion of H. E. Cox seconded by John Chapek. J. Defosset seconded by H. E. Cox the City Attorney was instructed to bring Civil =ction against Contractors who have not paid their respective licenses. Application of ,iidland counties Public Service Corporation No. 191 for permit to do certain work on Chorro Street between i,onterey Street and Sycamore Street and on Palm Street etween Broad Street and Morro Street and the application of Cline's Electric Shop for permit to install an electric sign at the Pioneer tiarket were laid over. Communication of Dr. H. A. Gallup relative to reserve space for the parking of rivate automobiles of Physicians was received and placed on file on motion of John Chapek seconded by L. J. Defosset. In re application of E. y: Payne for permit to cut pavement on Higuera Street. between Chorro Street and Garden Street for the purpose of making sewer connection for the Jahn Norton ding: The City Engineer was directed to intervie! -r applicant and report at the next meeting of the Council. The application of E. E. Burriss and of C. D. Stowe for permit to install gasoline torage tanks was again taken up. After discussion, the City Clerk was directed to request operators of service stations to furnish the Council with a record of their gasoline storage apacity, location of tanks, manner of connection, etc. Communication received from the American Legion Post No. 66 relative to installation; f "Safety First" signs was laid over to the next meeting of the Council. Application of M. Nakaji for licenses for Soft Drinks and Billiards and Pool at Palm Street was granted on motion of L. J. Defosset seconded by H. E. Cox. ontinued. Application of H. C.
