HomeMy WebLinkAbout04/27/193106 City niall, Monday, April 27th, 1931 - 7 :30 P.I:.. City Council met in adjourned session - L=ayor L. F. Sinsheimer presiding. Present: Chas. Forbes, L. J. Defosset, H. E. Cox, John Chapek, L. F. Sinsheimer. Absent : None The following applications for permit to build were granted on motion of H. E. Cox seconded by Chas. Forbes: George W. LlIcCabe - Remodel building, Block 24 Cost 800.00 John Chapek - Garage (replacement) Block 1, Weills Addition Cost 150.00 The application of T. J. Carleton for license for Skating Rink at the winter Garden was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report to the Council on motion of H. F. Cox seconded by John Chapek. The petition of A. Diekelmann for transfer of license for Blackstone Hotel at 844 Ivionterey btreet to L. T. Curtrigrt, was granted on motion of L. J. Defosset seconded by Chas. Forbes. The applications of 'Norman Cooke for permit to hang a sign at 862 Higuera Street and of E. .Chaffee for permit to hang a sign at 1819 Osos Street were referred to the Commissi of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report to the Council on motion of Chas Forb seconded by H. E. Cox. The communication received from Joseph B. Berkemeyer, Director of Public Official Section of the "Fiesta de las Floras of 1931" extending an invitation to the Council to participate in the parade to be held Lay 15th, 1931 at 10:30 A.LI., was received and ordered filed. City Clerk directed to acknowledge receipt of same. The reports of the.City Clerk and the City Treasurer for the month ending Larch 31st, 1931, were received and ordered filed on motion of Chas. Forbes seconded by H. E. Cox. Petition of Joseph Leary relative to Relief for Police Officers, received. I:Iatter to be taken up at the next meeting of the Council. It was moved by Chas. Forbes and seconded by L. J. Defosset that the City of San Luis Obispo take insurance covering liability on privately owned automobiles of certain employees, whose said automobiles are used in the discharge of their respective duties as City Employees. The application of Paul IIIcNabb for license for Soft Drinks at the M Camino Service Station, 311 Higuera Street, was granted on motion of L. J. Defosset seconded by Chas. Forbes. The application of Olive B. I :Iartin for permit to connect with City sewer on Osos Stree- between Ivionterey Street and Higuera Street was re- referred to the City Engineer for further investigation and report to the Council at the next meeting. Application of the !ziidland.Counties Public Service Corporation Ito. 191 for permit to do certain work on Chorro Street between Monterey Street and Sycamore Street and on Palm Street between Broad Street and I,Iorro Street was again laid over per-ding filing of blue print, setting forth manner in which work is to be done. The application of 1drs. W. H. Mills for permit to lay curbing on the south side of High Street between Cypress Street and Beebee Street was again continued, pending the filing of certain data by the City Engineer relative to the establishment of an official grade at that location. Petition of E. M. Payne for permit to cut pavement on Higuera Street between Chorro St, and Garden Street to make sewer connection for the John 'Norton Building was again laid over for more definite report from the City Engineer, , 1 1 1 1
