The following applications for permit to build were granted on motion of H.E.Cox

The application of the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company for permit to place
one thirty foot pole on the south side of Sandercock Street, 150 feet west of Story Street was
granted on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by L.J.Defosset,
Communication from Automobile Club of Southern California relative to placing
Traffic Signs was laid over to the next meeting.
On motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by John Chapek the applications -'Of G:B:Greenelsh
for licenses for Restaurant, Cigars Sideline and Soft Drinks at 686 Higuera Street were_granted.
Application of Louis Dinapoles for permit to hang wooden sign at 879 Higuera
Street, granted on motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by John Chapek, with the provision that
said sign comply with Ordinance.
The claim of Johnnie Holmes in the amount of ;2.56 for refund on erroneous
assessment on automobile,was granted on favorable report and motion of John Chapek seconded
by L.J.Defoseet.
Commissioner of Finance and Revenue,John Chapek, reported on the claim of Motor
Service Shop in the amount of $25.00 for rental of Motor. An adjusted claim in the amount
of $15.00 was substituted in lieu of the -first said claim,,, and on motion of John Chapek

seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer.it visa ordered that the City Clerk.draw.warrant in the amount
of x;,15.00. Said amount being full payment of said adjusted claim. The motion carried.

The matter of Insurance (Public Liability and Property Damage) on Automobiles in
Service of the City of San Luis Obispo was referaed, on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by
L.J.Defosset to the Commissioner of Finance and Revenue with power to act.
The application of Mrs. 'wV.H.Mills for permit to lay curbing on High Street was
continued pending establishment of Street grades.
This being the time and place fixed forHearing on the issuance of Bonds to cover
unpaid assessmentsfor the improvement of Ida Street (High School Bridge) under Resolution
of Intention No. 319 (New Series) the matter was now taken up.-.Protesting� petitions werA-.fi1
by R.M.Bradbury and Neil Cook. Matter discussed and on motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by
John Chapek the Hearing was continued to Monday, August 17th, 19311, at 7.30 P.M9
Ordinance No.158 (New Series) an Ordinance amending Ordinance No. 76 (New Series)
by adding thereto a new Section to be numbered 32s was introduced and passed to print on
motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by H.E.Cox by the following vote :

The matter of the proposed improvement of Islay Street was now taken up, and
Resolution No,359 (New Series) A Resolution directing the City Engineer to furnish
plans and specifications for the improvement of portions of Islay, Chorro and Garden Streets
in the City of Sari Luis Obispo, was introduced and adopted on motion of L.J.Defosset seconded
by H.E.Cox .by the following vote :
Ayes : J.B.Berkemeyer,John Chapek, H.E.Cox, L.J.Defosset, L.F.Sinsheimer.
Noes : None.
Absent : None.
Plans and Specifications for the Improvement of Islay Street and a portion of
Garden and Chorro Streets in the City of San Luis Obispo are now presented by the City
Engineer and.filed.
Resolution No. 360 (New Series) A Resolution adopting plans and specifications
for the improvement of portions of Islay, Chorro and Garden Streets in the City of San Luis
Obispo was introduced and adopted on motion of H.L. Cox seconded by L.J.Defosset by the
following vote
Ayes : J.B.Berkemeyer,John Chapek, H.E.Cox, L.J. Defosset, L.F.Sinsheimer.

Diagram showing District Boundary for the Improvement of Islay Street and a portion
of Garden and Chorro Streets in the City of San Luis Obispo was presented and filed.
Resolution of Intention N0.361 (New Series) A Resolution of the Council of the
City of San Luis Obispo, declaring its intention to improve portions of Islay, Chorro and
Garden Streets Creating an Assessment District to pay the costs and expenses of such
work, and determining that Serial Bonds shall be issued to represent unpaid assessments there
on, and setting the date for Hearing on the said proposed'improvement for September 21st,1931
at 7.30 O'clock P.M.,was introduced and adopted on motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by
H.E.Cox by the following vote
