City Council met in regular session - Mayor L. F. Sinsheimer presiding.
Present John Chapek, H.E.Cox, L.J.Defosset, L.F.Sinsheimer.
Absent J.B.Berkemeyer..
The minutes of December 21st and December 28th, 1931, and January 4th and 11th 1932
were read and approved as read on motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by H.E.Cox.
The following applications for permit to build were granted on motion of H.E.Cox
'seconded by L.J.Defosset :
F.Marion Smith - Residence and Garage - Lot 93 Mt.Pleasanton Square Cost $4,800.00
Geo.V.Hampton - Rebuild Garage - Part Lots 2 and 3,Block S. McBride Tract Cost 50.00
Wm Kneppel - New Roof. Part Lots 5 and 6,Block 109, Mission Vineyard Cost 15.00
The Merchandising Bond of W.R.Garrett, secured by Cashier's Check in the amount of
$200.00 was received, and on motion of John Chapek seconded by L.J.Defosset the bond was
approved.
On motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by H.E.Cox the Merchandising Bond of
Ray C.Hogue was referred to the Commissioner of Finance for report.
The following applications for licenses were referred to the Commissioner of
Public Health and Safety for investigation and report to the Council :

The application of The Valley Electric Company for permit to hang a Neon Sign at
Stag Billiard Parlors, 956 Monterey Street, was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health
and Safety for report to the Council on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek.
The matter of licensing the sale of butter substitutes was discussed and on motion
of L.J.Defosset seconded by John Chapek the City Attorney was requested to furnish the Council
with a draft of an Ordinance, along the line of the discussion.
Application of the Valley Electric Company for permit to add bottom panel to
present sign at Aut -O -Tel Service Station was again laid over.
The following applications for permit to hang Neon Electric Signs were granted, on
motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by John Chapek, with the provision that said signs..be_hung'in
accordance with Ordinance and under the supervision of the City Engineer♦
