Present : J.B.Berkemeyer, John Chapek, H.3.Cox, L.J.Defosset, L.F.Siiisheimer. Absent : None. The following applications for permit to build were granted on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer A.F.Fitzgerald - remodel front of Building Block 13 Cost 400.00 Darwin F. Brussow - Garage part lot 6 Block 76 Cost 50.00 The petition of Chas. Brussow for permit to lay 235 ft of Oft park sidewalk and curbing on the north side of = _ontalban Street bet-,.veen Santa :osa Street and Toro Street was granted on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by L.J.Defosset, with the provision that said sidewalk be made five foot in width at the pleasure of the council. The application of Clare :::ar --orini for per:ait to connect Sewer Stub from-manhole-to property line, on Islay Street between Santa :osa :;;rest and Toro Street, was granted on motio of H.E.Cox seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer with the provision that work be done under the supervisi of the City 'ngineer. The report of the City Clerk for the month of I:Iarch 1932 was received and ordered filed on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by J.3.3erkemeyer. A petition was received from George C. Ie Cormick, W.S.'eed and I'lary Reed, requesting the City of San Luis Obispo to abandon that portion of Sycamore Street, situate in said City, lying southerly and westerly of Broad Street and being that portion of Sycamore Street lying between Blocks Sixty -four and Sixty -five of said "City. !:.Tatter discussed, and on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by L.J.Defosset the ;same was referred to the City Attorney to advise the Council the legal status of that portion of Sycamore Street as set out in said petition. Following the reading of a petition from the County Board of Supervisors requesting the City of San Luis ubispo to transfer to the County of San iuis ubispo certain portions of Broad Street between Islay Street and the City Limits for certain Street improvement purposes, the :latter was continued, and the City Attorney directed to prepare the necessary papers for the next meeting of the Council. The matter of the renewal of insurance on non -owned cars used in the service of the City of aan -uis ubispo was referred to the Commissioner of finance for investigation and repor to the council. Communications from A.Ic.Free and Joe Crail, Congressmen, and from Hiram W.Johnson, United States Senator, were read and ordered filed. a Petition of the Valley Electric Company for permit to hang a Neon Electric Sign at ::fission Fountain Safe , 6v9 riguera Street, and the petition of '.Douglas Patton for permit to hang a neon Electric Sign at 1050 ::Monterey Street, were granted on motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by John Chapek, with the provision that said signs be hung in accordance with Ordinance and under the supervision of the City Engineer. ^he matter of the petition of d.H.Defosset for extension of !'later line alon g Osos Road vas again continued.
