of the Council.
On motion of L.J.Befosset seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer the following applications for
licenses were granted :
Lucy 3ensberg - Lunch Counter 280 Higuera Street ; Arbor Fountain - Soft Drinks and Cigars
Sideline at 885 Higuera Street.
Application of the Valley Electric Company for permit to hang a lieon Sign at State Gr
856 Monterpy Street, laid over.
The matter of the petition of the County of San Luis Obispo for permit to connect a
proposed sewer extension on Grand ,venue with the main sewer line of the City of San Luis Obis
at Grand ^venue and 7urray Streets was again over , together with report of the City
engineer.
Legal opinion of the City .,ttorney in re insurance on non oti.,ned autoiaobiles used in
the service of the City -ryas received and laid over to the next meeting.
On motion of H...Cox seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer the - meeting adjourned.

Poles at 1037 and 1017 Chorro 6treet, respectively, were granted. on ,lotion of J.B.Berke:leyer
seconded by E.E.Cox , with the provision that work be done under the supervision of the
City _ngineer.
The petition of Dora Tliomas for permit to hang a sign at 1011 Eori•o Street was
referred to the CoLLaissioner of Public Health and Safety for report to the Council on motion
of i?.E.Cox seconded by J.3.3erkemeyer, as was also, the application of C.I,j. -ong for permit to
install one twin Meter pump and one 290 gallon Gasoline storage tank at Long's Service Station.
Application of John Ghigliotti for permit to connect with City Sewer at 577 Chorro
Street was granted, on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer.

The report of the City Clerk for the month ending . -,pril 30th 1932, was received and
ordered filed on -potion of John 1-1hapek seconded by H.`;.Cox.
Ordinance Ido. 165 ( New Series ) , An Ordinance amending section 63 of Ordinance
No. 76 ( New Series ) of the City of San Luis Obispo, was finally passed, on motion of
John Chapek seconded by U.E.Cox by the following vote :
Ayes : J.B.Berkemeyer, John Chapek, H -E -Cox, L.F.Sinsheimer.
Does : None.
Absent : L.J.Defosset.
On motion of H.E.Cox seconded by Johii Chapek the Santa Liaria Gas Company was
permitted to cut pavement on Morro Street between 1.1onterey Street and Higuers Street for the
purpose of furnishing gas connection for new building, work to.be done under the supervision
of the City Engineer.
The petition of the Christian Science Church for permit to place sign posts at
rsh and Garden Streets , and at Higuera and Garden Streets :,as laid over to the next meeting,
On motion of u.H.Cox seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer the petition of the Valley Electric
Company for permit to hang a Neon Sign at the State Grill, 850 :- !onterey Street, was granted.
Petition of the County of San Luis Obispo for perrsit to connect proposed sewer on
Grand ::venue with the main line of the City Sewer at Grand :venue and 'Murray Streets was again
laid over.
A written opinion of the City Attorney regarding the liability of the City of
San Luis Obispo for damages caused by an ei:iployee using his own automobile on City business,
was read, and ordered received and placed on file, on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chupei
