Present : J.B.Berkemeyer, John Chapek, L.J.Defosset, L.F.Sinsheimer. Absent . H.E.Cox. Application of Hulda t�ieshburn for perait to remodel attic of residence in lot 9 Block 9 Central Addition at a Cost of 1;"> 450.00.was granted on motion of J.B.Berkemeyer seconded by L.J.Defosset. The Iderchandising Bond of C.B.Cooper, Surety R.I?.Dove, was referred to the Commissioner of Finance for report, on motion of J.B.Berkemeyer seconded by L.J.Defosset. The following applications for licenses were referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report to the Council : R.H.Greely - = Soft Drinks 392 Santa Hose Street Q -Della & V.de la Cruz Billiards & Pool & Cigars Sideline 162 Higuera Street New San Luis French Bakery ( Angelo Ciocchi ) Bakery 876 Higuera 6treet Petition` of::_r^,.Tsylor Smith et.al. in re routing heavy traffic over r'arsh Street, ordered received and placed on file, to be considered when Ordinance is taken up. Claim of the City Tax Collector in the amount of 231.91 . same being second installment of tax due from the City of San Luis Obispo for the improvement of Palm Street, Lower Higuera Street and Broad Street, was ordered paid from Interest Fund, on motion of John Chapek seconded by L.J.Defosset. Reports of the City Clerk and the 1.1ity Treasurer for the month of I ;aarch 1933, were received and ordered filed on motion of J.B.Berkemeyer seconded by L.J.Defosset. The following applications for " Beverage " (Beer ) licenses, as required by Ordinance Uo. 170 ( New Series ) were received Applications and Bonds being in proper form and the Sureties in each case being approved, it was moved by L.J.Defo::.set and seconded by John Chapek that the applications be granted and licenses issue : Wholesale Off. Latter discussed . City Attorney directed to obtain copies of Ordinance in effect in the Cities of Bakersfield and Santa Barbara. On motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer the following applications for icenses were ordered granted J.P.Poulsen Anna C, Schlic3ht & Paul V.Jacobsen A.I.I.Pettenger Defosset Furniture Co Soft Drinks 1117 Chorro Street Soft Drinks 723 I:;arsh Street Soft Drinks & Cigars Sideline Higuera St Auctioneer 698 Higuera Street Application of the Valley Electric Company for permit to hang a neon Sign at Chapek's Hardiiare Store, 742 'Higuera :;treat, granted on motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by J.B.Berke-zeyer, with the provision that said sign be hung in accordance with ordinance and under the supervision of the City Engineer. Applioationscof the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company for permit to do certain work on Story Street and on Walker Street were laid over for report from the Commissioner of Public Works, Application of Hubbard Hollister, by E.L.2ayne , for permit to cut pavement on Street between Essex Street and Johnson Street for purpose of Sewer repair, laid over o the next meeting, Petition of T.F.Weaver at al, requesting the Council to condemn a certain building t 1416 Palm Street again laid over. City Attorney to look into the matter of tax etc. Discussion was had relative to unpaid licenses for January quarter 1933, Resolution Ito. 380 ( New Series ) A Resolution providing for the extension of time for the payment of certain taxes and special assessments to the City of San Luis Obispo for a period of sixty days was introduced and adopted on motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by John Chapek by the following vote Ayes : J.B.Berkemeyer, John Chapek, L.J.Defosset, L.F.Sinsheimer. Noes : None. absent : H.E.Cox. On :potion of L.J.Defosset seconded by John Chapek the Commissioner of Supplies was authorized to negotiate for Lan :Automobile.for:1 use :.of Police Department - at a price no to exceed $ 800.00. The matter of routing heavy Traffic through the City was further discussed.
