Absent : L.J.DefoSset, Zayor L.F.Sinsheimer. In the absence of Mayor L.P.Sinsheimer and Vice President of the Council L.J.Defosset, Joseph B. Berkemeyer was nominated as Chairman of the meeting. Present : J.B.Berkemeyer, R.P.Howell, Joseph Leary, L.F.Sinsheimer. Absent : L.J.Defosset. The 'minutes of July 3rd... 10th. and 17th. were read and approved as read on motion of J.B.Berkemeyer seconded by R.P:howell. Application of L•i.F..Si;•umons for permit to add kitchen to present structure on lot 6 Block 99 Idission Vineyard Tract at a Cost of $ 15.00 , granted on motion of J.B.Berkemeyer seconded by R.P.Howell. The merchandising Bond of I.C.Day, Surety L.WeLuchessa, was approved and the Surety accepted on motion of R.P.Howell seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer. The following applications for licenses were referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report to the Council : H.N.Triplett C.J.Berkemeyer Petition of Theo. M. Maino ?restaurant 1025 Court Street Beer P-7holesale off sale) 1010 Higuera Street for permit to ramp sidewalk for a distance of 40 feet on Higuera Street at'.Carmel Street for Gilmore Oil Company Service Station, granted on motion of J.B.Berkemeyer seconded by R.P.Howell. The following applications for permit to hang signs were referred to the Commissi of Public Health and Safety for report to the Council Cline's Electric Shop _ Neon single face sign for V.C.Brisco 1422 I;ionterey Qtreet, Vertical Neon Sign for rd Martin 1023 Morro Street Neon Signs for Bee Hive Cafe and 'United Cigar Store 895 -697 Monterey Street. ^i � Petition of Ida J. Henderson for permit to remove three black Acacia trees from sidewalk area at 462 Pismo Street between Beach Street and Carmel Street, granted on motion of J.B.Berkemeyer seconded by R.P.Howell, with the provision that other trees be planted in lieu of those removed. Petition of Henry C. Dalessi for permit to block off sidewalk in front of old St James Hotel --r.opetty on ?ionterey Street between Chorro Street and I:Zorro Street during removal of debris, granted on motion of J.B.Berkemeyer seconded by R.P.Howell, with the provision that work be done under the supervision of the Police Department. Petition received from E, Bianchini for permit to string a Banner across Monterey Street advertising Swiss Celebration at Cambria, August 13th 1933. Matter-discussed and on motion of J.B.Berkemeyer seconded by H.P.Howell the petition was granted with the provision that said banner hang not more than three days prior to above mentioned date. On motion..of J.B.Berkemeyer seconded by R.P.Howell the application of the union Hardware and Plutbing Company for permit to connect with the City Sewer on Carmel Street between Higuera Street and ='srsh Street was granted work to be done under supervision of the City .naineer. Application of ?:Midland Counties Public service Corporation No. 211 for permit to do ertain work on Higuera Street between Archer Street and South Street, as set out in applicati file, was referred to the Commissioner of Public Works for report to-the Council. Claim of Sidney Goldtree in the amount of � 150.00 for refund On tax assessment eferred to the Commissioner of Finance and Revenue for investigation and report. On motion of J.B.Berkemeyer seconded by R.P.Howell the application of Earl Farmer or permit to hang a wooden sign at 1359 Idonterey Street granted with the provision that said ign be hung in accordance with Ordinance. Petition of Producers Transportation Company, by Lafe Todd, for permit to replace hree poles on Pismo Street between Archer Street and Beach Street granted, on motion duly econded and carried. The following matters were continued Petition of P.A.H.Arata in re delinquent x Petition of T.F.Veaver in re premises at 1416 Palm Street Petition of Pscifid Tele- one and Telegraph Company for per:ait tm set pole on Story Street.near Pacific Coast Company's ilway tracks. Natter of unpaid licenses for previous quarter continued. The application of Carlo Borlandelli for registration as a Class " E " Contractor together with Bond and license fee was brought up and on motion of R.p.Howell seconded by 7.3.3erkemeyer the Bond was approved and license ordered issued. On motion of Joseph Leary seconded by R.P.Howell the Clerk was direoted to communica with the Rail Road Commission of the State of California, requesting that Body to investigate Gas and Electric rates and the quality of Gas in the City of San Luis Obispo. On motion of R.P.Howell seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer the matter of the purchase of an adding machine for the City Collector's Office was left to the Commissioner of Supplies On motion of J.B.Berkemeyer seconded by R.P.Howell the meeting adjourned.
