The following matters were continued to the next m(3eing: Application of the
Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company for work on Story Street near P.C.ailway track;
Petition of T.F. Fleaver in re premises at 1416 Palm Street; 'Petition of P.A.H.Arata in re
Tax Sales; Claim of Sidney Gbldtree in re refund on Taxes.
The City attorney was requested to furnish the Council with a draft of an amend-
ment to Ordinance No. 170 ( New Series ) relating to the sale of Beer, and , of Ordinance
1T o. 103 ( New Series ) relating to Garbage.
On motion of J.B.Berkemeyer seconded by R.P.Howell the meeting adjourned to
lionday, August 14th 1933, at 7 :30 P.I�I.

Application of Midland Counties Public Service Corporation J 213 for permit to do

pplication on file, referred to the 'Commissioner of Public Works for report.
Application and Bond of Acme Quality Paint Store, by Gerald F. Rhodes, together
ith license fee.for registration as a Class " E " Painting Contractor; Application and Bond
f Nigg Engineering Corporation, together with license fee for registration as a Class " D "
uilding Contractor , and the application and Bond of ,'Jest Coast Termite & Fungus Control, by
.T.Walker, together with license fee for registration as Class 11 F " Contractor received, and
a notion of L.J.Defosset seconded by Joseph Leary the respective Bonds were approved and
plications ordered granted.
On motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by Joseph Leary the applications of Ida LI.Cherry,
and Thomas Shipman for permit to repair foundations of buildings in Block 2 Central Addition,
and Block 32, respectively, were laid over - referred to the Building Inspector for report to
the Council.

Ordinance No. 173 ( New Series ) An Ordinance amending Section 1 of Ordinance
No. 103 ( ldew Series ) in re disposal of Garbage, was introduced and passed to print on motion
of L.J.Defosset seconded by Joseph Leary by the following vote:
Ayes : L.J.Defosset, Joseph Leary, L.F.Sinsheimer.
Noes : None.
Absent : J.B.Berkemeyer, R.P.Howell:
Application of TU dland Counties Public Service Corporation 4T 211 for certain work
on Higuera Street between Archer Street and South Street laid over.
The following applications for permit to hang signs were granted, on motion of
L.J.Defosset seconded by.Joseph Leary, with the provision that said signs be hung in accordance
with the provisions of .Ordinance and under the supervision of the City Engineer:
Gilmore Oil Company - I:retal illuminated sign Higuera Street at Carmel Street
Valley Electric Company - Double faced Neon Sign for Herrera Bros 987 lonterey Street.
On motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by Joseph Leary the following applications for
licenses were granted :

Application of Nehi Bottling Company, by 1l.P.Hershberger, together with Bond for

The following matters pending were continued to the next meeting Application of

Applications of Henry C. Delessi and, H,E,Clark for registration as Class " E " Contractors;
