City Council met in regular session - IIni_the absence of j�Iayor L.F.Sinsheimer and, Vice President of the Council L.J.Defosset , R.P.Howell nominated Joseph B. Berkemeyer as Chairman of the meeting. The motion was seconded by Joseph Leary and Lr. 3erkemeyer was declared Chairman. The.roll was then called. Present : J.B.Berkemeyer, R.P.Howell, Joseph Leary. absent : I. "sayor L.F.Sinsheimer, and. L:J:Defosset. The iinutes of October 16th. 23rd and 30th were read and approved as read on motion of H.P.;:owell seconded by Joseph Leary. DFlication of _.=.P9rker for permit to build a portable garage on lot 26 Block 61 at a cost of 43.00 granted on notion of 3.P.Eowell seconded by Joseph teary. .Application of Earl S. '.�Iise for permit to lay 50 ft of curbing and gutter on the north side of Buchon Street between Carmel Street and archer Street referred to the Com;nissioner of Public '.,forks for report, on motion of R.P.Howell seconded by Joseph Leary. The following applications for licenses were referred to the Comaissioner of Public Health and Safety for report : Wooden Shoe Cafe ( Schlicht & Jacobsen) Cigars Sideline at 1035 Chorro Stre::t; O.H.Burton - Cigars Sideline at 420 High Street; H 'aakith - Cigar Store at 868 Palm Street. zetition of 3iina C. Schlicht and Paul J Jacobsen for transfer of license for Seaside Lunch Counter at 723 Liarsh Street to Olive white , granted on motion of 3-.P-Howell seconded by Joseph Leary. Application of I.iidland Counties Public Service Corporation 216 for permit to replace 2 poles and install 2 guys on Branch :",treet between Harris Street and Cypress Street s referred to the Co7niissioner of Public ':!orks on motion duly seconded and carried. Ir,erchandising Bond of Economy Drug Co. by H.C.Evans, secured by Certificate of posit, in the amount of 200.00 was approved and license ordered issued, on motion of .,.Howell seconded by Joseph leary. The reports of the City Clerk and the City ^ressurer forthe month of September 1933, those of the City 'Jollector and the Police Judge for the month of October 1933, were eceived and ordered filed on motion duly seconded and carried, Claims against the City for the month of October 1935 were ordered paid, on motion f -R.P.Howell seconded by Joseph Leary, subject to the approval of the heads of the respective epartments and the Mayor. On motion duly seconded and carried the following applications for licenses were anted: S.Lareo Fish Co - Beverage " Wholesale" 561 Dana Street Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co Cigars Sideline 887 Higuera Street 'idooden Shoe Cafe -Restaurant 1035 Chorro Street 311 matters pending were continued to the next meeting of the Council.
