City hall, Monday, I:Iarch 5th 1934 - 7 :30 P.Ivi.
City Council met in regular session - Vice President of the Council L.J.Jefosset
presiding.
(Present : J.B.Berkemeyer, L.J.Lefosset, R.P.Howell, Joseph Leary.
Absent : Mayor L.F.Sinsheimer. -
The minutes of February 5th., 13th. and 19th. were read and approved as read on
motion ddly seconded and carried.
The following applications for permit to build were granted
Herrera Bros - remodel interior of Call Bldg in Block 14 Cost 50.00
AA,M.Pettenger - Addition to building Block 62 Cost 30.00
Iderchandising 3ond of Iallace 21wamer, with Babel Bartlett as Surety, was approved
and the Surety accepted, on motion of R.P.Howell seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer.
The following applications for licenses were referred to the Commissioner of
Public Health and Safety for report to the Council :

Application of I1ick Covell for The Junior Class of Senior High School, for permit
to hang a canvas sign across Street at the intersection of Higuera and Chorro Street referred
to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report to the Council.
The reports of the City Treasurer and the City Clerk for -the month of January,
and those of the City Collector and the Police Judge for the month of February 1934, were
received and ordered placed on file, on motion of J.B.3erkameyer seconded by Joseph Leary.
Claims against the City for the month of February were ordered paid, on motion of
.P.Howell seconded by J.3.3erkemeyer, subject to the approval of the heads of the respective
departments and the i:layor.
License report for January quarter 1934 received and referred to the Police -Depart-
t for report at the next meeting.
Application of Agnes I.I. Lyman for permit to lay 44 ft of curbing on the north side
Of Upham Street between 3road Street and Garden Street , granted on motion duly seconded and
earried, with the provision that work be done under the supervision of the City Engineer.
Application of .filbert Tognazzini for license for ::estaurant at 1032 Chorro Street
zranted on motion -of J.3.3erkeraeyer seconded by Joseph Leary.
On motion of J.3.3erke;aeyer seconded by -R.P.Hoivell action on application of
idland Counties Public Service Corporation r 214, Bated October 10th 1933, for certain work on
?ants _ ?osa Street between Olive Street and the north City Limits was rescinded.
On motion of J.B.:3erkemeyer seconded by Joseph Leary application of - ;idl-nd Counti
=public Service - orpor,-tion m 218 for per-ait to replace poles and restring wires on Santa osa
Street between Syca-iore Street ^nd the I,orth city limits ,-;as granted. The latter applicatic
covering one additional Kock of territory.
The following license was ordered cancelled:
