Approved this presiding. !�- day of 1934. mayor City Hall, lionday, May 7th 1934 - 7 :30 p,M* City Council met in regular session - Vice President of the Council L.J.Defosset Present J.B.Berkemeyer, L.J.Defosset, Joseph Leary. Absent : R.P.Howell, P:tayor L.F.Sinsheimer. The minutes of April 16th., 23rd. and 30th were read and approved as read on motion of J.B.Berkemeyer seconded by Joseph Leary. Application of Chas. Q. Hatchett for permit to lay 50 ft of 5 ft park sidewalk and curbing on the north side of Church Street between Morro Street and Santa Barbara avenue was referred to the Coamissioner of Public l=Jorks for report to the Council, on motion duly seconded and carried. The following applications for licenses were referred to the Commissioner of blic Health and Safety for investigation and report to the Council: Ulisse DeBernardf Lodging House y64 Chorro Street Ulisse DeBernardi Restaurant 964 Chorro Street P.--J.Angeloni Laundry 1311 Broad Street George Artmenko Skating Rink Winter Garden On motion of J.B.Berkemeyer seconded by Joseph Leary the following applications or permit.to hang signs were referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for port to the Council: Valley Electric Cc - Neon sign for The !'line Shop 1019 Chorro Street - Neon sign for Herrera Bros 898 Monterey Street - Neon sign for Ru - Mee Shop 1112 Chorro Street - Neon sign for lAneman Hotel Higuera Street Application of the Santa Maria Gas Company for permit to replace old 6" main with new 6" main ( Approximately 3,500 ft ) on South Street between Higuera Street and Br Street was referred to the Commissioner of Public Works for report to the Council. The petition of T.B.Cumbo, Jr. for transfer of license for Service Station at 600 :Jarsh Street to Plinio Mazza granted on motion of J.B.Berkemeyer seconded byJoseph L The reports of the City Treasurer for the month of Larch 1934 , and those of the Uity . Collector and the Police Judge for the month of April 1934 were received and ordered placed on file, on motion of J.B.Berkemeyer seconded by Joseph Leary. The Claim of the City Collector in the amount of $ 221. 76 , same being amount due from the City of San Luis Obispo for the second installment due for the year 1933 -34 for the improvement of the lollawing named Streets.; to -wit: Palm Street (it) Improvement; Lower Higuera 6treet Improvement, and Broad Street improvement,.was ordered paid on motion of J.B.Berkemeyer seconded by Joseph Leary. Claims against the City for the month of April were ordered paid subject to the approval of the heads of the- respective departments•' and. the Idayor, on motion of J.B.Berkemeyer seconded by Jose- ph,.Leary,.. . 1 I 1
