City Hall, l:ionday, November 19th 1934 - 7:30 p.hl.
City Council met in regular session - Mayor L.F.Sinsheimer presiding.
Present : J.B:Berkemeyer, L.J.Defosset, a.P.Howell, Joseph Leary, L.F.Sinsheimer.
Absent : None.
The,minutes of November 5th and 13th were read and approved as read on motion
of :--.-P-Howell seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer.
Application of O.J.7.7onett for license for Cigars Sideline at 1120 I3orro Street
referred to the Ca..-imissioner of Public Health and Safety for report to the Council.
Petition of Agnes Lyman for per:.lit to lay 50 ft of 5 ft park sidewalk on the
north side of Upham Street between Morro Street and Chorro Street was referred to the
Co,a.iissioner of Public ' ;7orks with power to act work to be done under the supervision of
the .;it, Engineer.
On motion of 1-6.P- Howell seconded by Joseph Leary the following applications
for permit to place signs were referred to the Coi=issioner of Public Health and Safety
for report :

on Monterey Street,

Two canvas signs - wood frame - 1725 Broad Street.
Petition of Directors of First Church of Christ, Scientists, for permit to
a sign in front of Bank of America, on a new post to be installed at expense of petitioners,
or on the lamp post in front of F.' >,!.',7oolworth Company was referred for report.
The report of the City Clerk. Police Judge and the Pound 14aster for the month
of October, 1934, were received and ordered filed, on motion of J.B.Berkemeyer seconded by
...1 Howell.
Letters from residents on Osos Street between Pacific Street and Terrace Hill
District, expressing appreciation of the electric lighting system recently installed along
the said Street, were read and ordered placed on file on motion of J.B.Berkemeyer seconded
by Joseph Teary.
Re : Emergency Educational Project.. bred Michel and others requested a
contribution of 35.00 per month for a period of four months to match a like sum promised
the committee by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Luis Obispo, to defray the
expenses of rental of a Recreation Center Building, to house various projects sponsored
by the Committee. Liatter discussed and on motion of R.P.Howell seconded by L.J.Defosset
s referred to the City Attorney for legal opinion as to whether the City of San Luis Obispo
s the legal right to contribute to the project. The motion-:carried,
The application of G.S.Brown for license for Dance Hall at 977 Higuera 6treet,
Of O.J.?.!.Ionett for license for Restaurant at 1120 kiorro Street, were granted on rpotion
L.J.Defosset seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer.
The applications of Cline's Electric Shop for permit to hang Neon Signs. at
683 Higuera Street for the Peerless Bakery, and at 995 Higuers Street.for G.A.Hertman
were granted on favorable report and motion of L.J.11efosset seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer.
Work to be done in accordance with Ordinance and under the supervision of the City engineer.
:Matter of an unpaid claim of the Valley Electric Company continued to the next
meeting of the council.

additional lighting installation, referred to the Co:.imissioner of Public viorks and the Ci
Engineer for checking and report, on motion of R.P.Howell seconded by Joseph $eary.
