Re: request of American Legion for the installation of a few electric lights in the vicinity of I.D.3.3 Hall and l;orth Broad Street : Co!n.,iissioner of Public Works J.B.Berkemeyer reported, and it was agreed that five ( 5 ) additional electric lights be authorized for the above named district, to become a part of the Anholm Circuit. It was further ordered that two Gas Street lights be discontinued on lorth Broad Street. On motion of J.B.Berkerneyer seconded by R.P.Howell the meeting adjourned to Monday, January 14th 1935, at 7 :30 P.H. Momii. granted on motion of J.B.Berkeme,yer seconded'oby =`R 'E ::Howell. Petition of Guy I.I. Baldwin for permit to change position of present gasoline storage tanks and install four additional 550 gallon tanks and four gasoline pumps at Service `Station 406 Higuera Street referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for 1 report to the Council. Attorney A.E.Renetzky, with 17.P.Hershberger of Nehi Bottling Company appeared and requested that License Ordinance No. 76 be amended to eliminate Section 34, providing for a fee of $ 6.00 per quarter for the business of Bottling Beverages. Petition of W.B. ?;4c Rae for per -At to out down a Walr_ut tree standing in Park area of sidewalk on John McQuaid property, 1153 Islay Street was again laid over. Co::imissioner pf Public Works to make further investigation. On:;,uotion of L.J.Defosset seconded by .P.Iiowell the Valley Electric Company was granted permit to erect Neon Signs for the City of San Luis Obispo at the north and South entrances to the City. Santa Maria Gas Company was permitted to break hole in Street 3 x 6 feet at 706 nigh Street for purpose of serving Gas to new consumer, on motion of J.B.Berkemeyer seconded by R.P.Howell. Applications of roster and Kleiser Company for permit to erect Advertising Sign oards in Blocks 6 , 13 , 17 , 18 and 23 were discussed and ordered laid over for further estigation by members of the Council. City Attorney reported favorable on the claim of Electrical Products Corporation the amount of a 11.22 for alleged injury to a certain neon Sign , and on motion of .P.Howell seconded by Joseph Leary it was ordered that the said claim be allowed. He : matter of licensing Electrical Sign Companies for doing business in the City f San Luis Obispo. ;:;aster discussed and referred to the Commissioner of Finance for nvestigation and report to the Council. e : proposed establishment by the County of San Luis Obispo, of an over -night elter for transients--in the Lyman Building on Upham Street between High Street and Broad Street: Council opposes establishment of such project at the proposed locati a.residential and School District, or within the City Limits. Councilman Joseph Leary and Chief of Police Harry Payton were requested to pursue the matter further and report at the next meeting. Be : Electric Street Lights: It was moved by Joseph Leary and seconded by .P.Howell that Electric Street Lights be installed as per a certain 1dap that work be done under the supervision of the Commissioner of Public Wirks.
