City Hall, Monday, January 21st 1935 - 7 :30 P.M.
City Council met in regular session - mayor L.F.Sinshe"r presiding.
Present : J.B.Berkemeyer, L.J.Defosset, R.P.Howell, Joseph Leary; L.F.Sinaheimer.
Absent : None.
The minutes of January 7th and 14th were read and approved as read on motion
R.P.Howell seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer.
Application of Sandercock Transfer Company for permit to remodel Store Building
in Block 13 - 856 Higuera Street, at a Cost of $ 800.00 ordered granted ®abject tb the
approval of the 3uilding Inspector.
Petition of Freeman Sign Service, by C.E.Freeman, for permit to hang a bracket
sign at 011ie Hughes Beauty Parlor on Garden Street, referred to the Commissioner of
Public Health and Safety for report to the Council.
The report of the City Clerk for the month of Dece :abet 1934 was received and
ordered placed on file on :notion of J.B.Berkemeyer seconded by ;.P.Howell.
I:Ierchandising Bond of Jessie P. Cook with Guy i1. Baldwin as Surety was ordered
approved and the Surety accepted, on :notion of E.P.Howell seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer.
Petition of W.D.McRae for permit to remove a tree from park area of sidewalk
at 1153 Ialay Street, John I:IcQuaid property laid over for one week.
Fetition of Guy N. Baldwin for permit to install additional gasoline storage
tanks and pumps. at Service Station 406 Higuera Street again continued for investigation
by Commissioner of Public Health and Safety.
Applications of Foster and Lleiser Company for permit to place advertising sign
oards at the following named locations were granted on motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by
Joseph Leary :

Captain Bliss appeared and diaeusaed with the Council matter of the proposal by t
County of San Luis Obispo to establish a transient relief relay Station in the Lyman Buildi
on Upham Street. Matter continued to the next meeting.
Commissioner of Public Works presented clap showing a proposed plan for Electric
Street Lighting on the east side of the City. After discussion it was moved by
J.B.Berkemayer, seconded by R.P.Howell and carried, that the plan as designated'on said
I,Iap be accepted in principal that exact details be worked out later. Electric
Lighting Company to furnish full and complete detail of plan for acceptance by the Council.
Work to be done under the supervision of the Commissioner of Public Works and the City
Engineer.
It was further moved by J.B.Berkeaiayer seconded by R.P.Howell and carried that
hen work herein first above provided for is completed that plans and spec&fications be
esented for like work on the north side of the pity,
