City Hall, Monday, September 16th 1935 - 7 :30 p.1j. _ City Council met in regular session - Mayor L.F.Sinsheimer presiding: Cost Present : J.B.Berkemeyer, L.J.Defosset; Joseph Leary; L.F.Sinsheimer. C.Russell Hoyt Absent : R.P.Howell. Cost The minutes of .September 3rd and 10th were read and approved as read. Roman Catholic Church Application of W.H.Broadhurst forr. permit to repair building partially destroyed Cost by fire on part of lot 4 Block 79 at a Cost of 800.00 was denied on motion of J.B.Berkemeyer seconded by L.J.Defosset. Said proposed improvement being in violation of provisions of Building Code. It was moved by J.B.Berkemeyer and seconded by L.J.Defosset that Kenneth Beck be appointed City engineer and Building Inspector. The motion carried and it was so ordered: Joseph Leary voted " No Application of E.W. and Gusts. Soper for permit to make an addition to building on Lot 6 Block 2 Tic Brides Tract, at a cost of S 75.00 granted, on motion of J.B•Berkemaye seconded by L.J.Defosset, subject to the approval of the Building Inspector. The following applications for licenses were referred to the Commissioner of 1 C 1 blic wealth and Safety for investigation and report to the Council : Mrs Emma Strollies R.F.Jenkins, et.al. H.F.Jenkins, et.al. Lunch Counter 1819 Osos Street Restaurant 427 Higuera Street Cigars Sideline 427 Higuera Street The report of the.Found ?piaster for the month of August, received and ordered laced on file. Ap�;lications for the regular quarterly licenses were presented and referred to ommissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report, on motion of .B.Berkemeyer seconded by Joseph Leary. In a communication Walter B. Roselip requested.the City of San Luis Obispo to ,eimburse him in the amount of,$ 36.00 * being cash expended for patrolman employed by the etitioner, for protecting his private premises at Grand Avenue and Murray Streets, for a period of nine nights. Matter discussed . It was moved by L.J.Defoseet seconded by Joseph Leary that the request be denied. The motion carried. The following applications for permit to build were granted on motion of J.B.Berkemeyer seconded by L.J.Defosset subject to the approval of the Building Inspector : Santa Marie vas Company = Addition Lot 1 Block "A" Maymont iddn Cost $ 400.00 C.Russell Hoyt - Addition and General repairs Block 45 Cost 850.00 Roman Catholic Church - Repairs Church Building Block 11 Cost 29500.00 On favorable report and motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer the following applications for licenses were granted : Grace Towndend Thompson J .,i . J ohns on Restaurant 848 Higuera Street Bakery 974 Monterey Street Application of A.B.Billa for licenae to conduct an Amusement parlor at 998 Higuera Street was denied on motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by Joseph Leary.
