City Hall, Monday, June 15th 1936 - 7:30
City Council met in regular session - Vice President of the Council
.Z.J.Defosset presiding.
Present : J.B.Berkemeyer, L.J.Defosset, R.P.Howell, Joseph.Leery.
bsent :syor L.F.Sinsheimer.
The minutes of June let and 8th were read and approved as read.
The following applications for permit to build were granted

It is desired by the Council that..the.two last named petitioners furnish certain'data
required by the building.Inspector,.and the.said applications were granted with that
provision.
James ?iller was granted permit to raze building on part of lots. 5 and 6 in
Block 86, corner of Elarsh and Broad Dtreets.
On motion duly seconded and carried Golden State•Company, Ltd. was granted
permit to repair sidewalk at 570 Higuera Street.
Application of Refugio Lopez for license for Lunch Counter at 866 Palm Street,
application of =emigio Gaoiran.for license for Soft Drinks at 887 Palm Street, and the
applications of Veterans of Foreign !'tars, dated June 2d and 9th for license for Boxing at
',linter Garden, were referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report to
the Council.
The following petitions for transfers of licenses were granted on motion of

Franco Chavis - Billiards and Pool and Cigars Sideline at 887 Palm Street to R. Gaoiran
A. Bloomberg - Junk Dearer at 647 Higuera Street to P.L.Dubin.
Application of the Valley Electric Company for permit to hang a iJeon Sign at
851 Higuera Street; and the Communication from American Brotherhood for the Blind for
permit to hold a " Flower Sale " on Saturday June 20th or 27th were referred to the
Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report to the Council.
Petition of Andrews Est., by L.F.Andrews, for permit to use Air Compressor for
removing paint from buildings of Andrews Estate Block 18, !.ronterey Street at Osos Street,
ranted on motion of J.B.Berkerneyer seconded by R.P.Howell.
Petition of Fred ':Iichel for permit to re -love certain trees at 1544 Higuera;:S.tree
ferred to the Commissioner of Public 'iJorks.
The report of the City Treasurer for the month of April, and of the Police
or the month of :.day were received and ordered placed on file, on motion of :;.P.Howell
econded by J.B.Berkemeyer.
Applications for the regular quarterly licenses were presented and referred to
he Commissioner -of Public Bealth and Safety for report, on motion duly seconded and carried.
In a communication, Chas J. belly, District uianager,,Iidland Counties Public
rvice 8orporation, notified the Council that the Electric Street lights will be
completely installed and ready for operation on June 20th 1936, and that the lights will be
turned on on that date. LIatter referred to the Commissioner of Public I'Iorks,
