City Council met in regular session - IAayor L.F. Sinsheimer presiding.
Present : J.B.Berkemeyer, H.P.Hot-,jell, Joseph Leary, L.F.Sinsheimer.
Absent : L.J.Defosset.
The minutes of December 21st and 28th were re.:.,d and approved as read.
On motion duly seconded and carried, the following applications for permit
to build were granted

Application of the Estate of Mary Fitzpatrick, by John F. Fitzpatrick, for
permit to remodel building on part of Lot 3 Block 99, into a two stall garage was denied
on motion of J. B. Berkemeyer seconded by Joseph Leary.
Application of A.F. Fitzgerald for permit to raze old dwelling on Lot 11
and part of Lot 12 Block 99 granted on motion of J.B. Berkemeyer seconded by H.P. Howell.
On motion of J.B. Berkemeyer seconded by R.P. Howell the following
applications for licenses were referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety
for investigation and report to the Council :

Application of I,Iidland Counties Public Service Corporation 1238 for permit
to do certain work on Buchon Street between Broad Street and Eorro Street, also, on
Garden Street from Pismo Street to Islay Street, to improve voltage and service conditions
in said area, was referred to the Commissioner of Public viorks for investigation and repor
to the Council.
The reports of the City Clerk and the City Treasurer for the month of
November, and the report of the city Collector for the month of December 1936 were
received and ordered placed on file on motion of R.P. Howell seconded by J.B. Berkemeyer.
Claims against the City for the month of December 1936 were ordered paid,
on motion of R.P. Howell seconded by J.B. Berkemeyer, subject to the approval of the
heads of the respective departments and the :.ayor.
Petitions of -L-rthur I.I. Fisk, and of :;l viebster for permit to remove certain
trees -from sidewalk area at 1061 Islay Street and at 7:J7 Church Street, respectively,
were ordered placed on file, on motion of J.3. .3erkemeyer seconded. by H.P. Hovjell.
Petition of San Luis Building w Loan Association, by J.C. James, Secretary,
for permit to place baffle .,,alls in can Luis Obispo Creek betli,,een I.:arsh Street and Santa
Rose Street Bridges again referred to the City Engineer for investigation and report to th
Council on motion of E.F. Howell seconded by J.B. Berkemeyer.
Petition of Santa I:Iaria Gas Company f'or permit to reconditiion 81, has main,
and install a 3" main on = :Iorro Street between i:Iarsh Street and Santa Barbara llvenue was
Igranted on motion of J.B. Berkemeyer seconded by H.P. Howell.
Petition of J.F. Hickenbottom for permit to construct a cement and rock
retaining wall on Lot 2 Block 7 V,,teill's Addition again referred to the City Engineer for
investigation and report to the Council.
