City Council met in regular session - Vice President of the Council L.J.Defosset
presiding.
Present : J.B.Berkemeyer, L.J.Defosset, R.P.Howell, Joseph Leary.
Absent : Mayor L.F.-insheimer.
The minutes of April 4th and 11th were read and.approved as read.
The following applications for permit to build were granted on motion of
J.B.Berkemeyer seconded by R.P.Howell :

The Merchandising Bond of 'iJ.B.Trueman, dba as Seven Up Bottling Co of Santa
Barbara, with I:aryland Casualty Company Bond in the amount of $ 200.00 as surety , was
approved and the surety accepted on motion of R.P.Fowell seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer.
Anrlication of Pearl E. Bennett for license for Restaurant at 995 FLzuera Street
referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report to
the Council.
i,pzolication of '.':'.O.Hudson for permit to connect with sewer on Lawton Street
between ',nitchell Drive and Caudill Street granted on favorable report and motion of
J.B.Eerkemeyer seconded by .R.P.Fovrell.
Petition of Archie A. Cheda for permit to cut sidewalk from curb to building,
Fitzgerald building ':ionterey Street, for purpose of repairing leak in water service line
referred to the Commissioner of Public '"forks with power to act.
On motion of J.B.Berkemeyer seconded by Joseph Leary the upplication of Santa n.7ar1
Gas Company for permit to break 3 x 4 ft hole in pavement on Chorro Street between Murray
Avenue and I.ATest Street to repair leak in Gas service line granted.

by J.B.Berkemeyer the same were ordered placed on file.
Six applications of Foster and Kleiser Company for permit to place advertising
sign boards at various locations, ...ore particularly set out in applications on file, were
presented, and on motion of J.B.Berkemeyer seconded by R.P.Howell were referred to the
Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report to the Council.
Individual members of Council to view the said locations named.
Re : membership in Channel Counties Division of the League of California Munici-
palities : Resolution read.
