The report of the City Clerk and of the City Treasurer for the month ending march 31st 1938 were received and ordered placed on file on motion duly seconded 'and carried. Claim of the City Tax Collector in the amount of $ 181.22 , same being for second installment of tax due from the City of San Luis Obispo for the year 1937 -1938 for the improvement of Palm Street, Lower Higuera Street and Broad Street was allowed, on motion of R.P.Howell seconded by L.J.Defosset. Clerk instructed to draw warrant on Interest Fund for the said amount. Application of H..7.Rudolph of Rudolph's Electric, for registration as Class "E" Contractor together with Fireman's Fund Indemnity Companys Bond in the amount of $ 500.00 and registration fee of $ 15.00 received and on motion of R.P.Howell seconded by J.L.Defos it was ordered that Surety be accepted, bond approved and registration granted. Application of•Cook and Farnham for registration as Class " D " Contractor laid over pending receipt of State license number. Communication of T.J.Jordan of Southern Pacific Company ordered placed on file. In a communication San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce, by k-l. Bonetti,Secretary, requested permit to hang a banner on Higuera Street announcing the date of Fiesta de Las Flores. On motion duly seconded and carried the matter was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report to the Council. Re : petition of R.S.Shatford for permit to construct 235 feet of sewer line on a proposed extension of Fixlini Street through property '{nown as Shatford Tract, and'conne with the main sewer line of the City of San Luis"Obispo at the intersection of Lizzie St and Fixlini :Street, as shown on Map submitted by the City Engineer. Report of City Engineer read. Matter discussed. It was moved by T.B.Berkemeyer seconded by R.P. that the petition be granted : that work be done in accordance with plans and specificati of the City Engineer and under his supervision:- with the proviso that: the City is not responsible, financially or otherwise, in the construction, operation or maintenance of said sewer, and that the City does not recognize the above alluded to Fixlini Street as be Street within the meaning of that word. The motion carried. Six ( 6 ) applications of Foster & 3leiser Company for permit to erect advertis sign boards at various locations ( particularly set out in applications on file) were resented. Bennett for license for Restaurant at 995 Higuera Street ranted on motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by R.P.Howell. Application of H.D.San.ders for permit to connect with sewer on Sandercock Street etween Cypress Street and Beebee Street granted on motion of J.B.Berkemeyer seconded by .P.Howell. Re : matter of application to State Board of Public Health for permit to dispose f settled sewage from the City of San Luis Obispo onto certain lands as set forth in the ollowing resolution Resolution.No. 399 ( New Series ) A Resolution authorizing and directing that an application be made to the State Board of Public Health for a permit to dispose of settle ewage was introduced and adopted on motion of J.B.Berkemeyer seconded by L.J.Defosset, by he following vote: yes : J.B.Berkemeyer, L.J:Defosset, R.P.Howell, Joseph Leary, L- F,Sinsheimer. oes : None. bsent : None.
