Present: W.H.Brazil,R.P.Howell,Ralph C.Kennedy,Fred C.Kimball, Joseph Leary Absent: None The Minutes of July 17th, 24th and 31st were read and approved as read. The following applications for permit to build were granted on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by W. H. Brazil: Jesse L. Whitaker - Res. Lot 5, Blk 6, Central Addn. Cost X3500.00 E. R. Bradbury - Res. Lot 1 Blk 171, Dallidet Addn. to 1200.00 . Willard, J. Chase - Repairs and addn to residence, Lot 3, Blk 11, Anholm Addn 500.00 Arthur McGrew. - New foundation, lot 8 & 9, Blk 1080 Murray & Church Addn, " 300.00 D.W. Ford - To raze old building and rebuild store- room, B1_{ 612 " 50.00 The two first hereinabove named applications were granted withthe proviso, that if contractors named in the application employ sub- contractorq,that said sub - contractors must be licensed contractors with the City. The application of Rudy A. Eissler for permit to open trench to connect with sewer in the Caudill Tract was referred, on motion of Joseph Leary, seconded by R. P. Howell, to the Commissioner of Public Works for investigation and report to the Council. The reports of the Police Judge, City Collector and the Pound Master for the month of July were received and ordered placed on file, on motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by R. P. Howell. Claims against the City for the month of July were ordered paid on motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by R. P. Howell, subject to the approval of the heads of the reePective departments and the Mayor. Ordinance No. 201 (New Series) - An Ordinance providing for the acquisition of certain real property by the City of San Luis Obispo, i.e., (Lots 18 & 19; Block 186, Ingleside Homestead Tract) was finally passed, on motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by R. P. Howell by the following vote: Ayes: W.H.Brazil,R.P.Howell, Ralph C. Kennedy, Fred C. Kimball, Joseph Leary Noes: None Absent: None Re: Application of Vernon Flory, Minister of the Seventh Day Adventist Church for permit to erect a tent.at the corner of Garden and Pacific Streets to be used forevangelistic meetings: W. H. Brazil reported that there were no objections to the erecting of such tent at that location execepting in regard to sanitary conditions. The petition of Mrs. Kate Meyer, relative to the unsightliness of said tent, was read. Matter discussed and on motion of W. H. Brazil, seconded by R. P. Howell it was ordered that the permit to erect a tentbe granted for a period of two months and that the work be done under the supervision of the health department. Motion carried. The petition of `halter Parker for permit o rehang a metal sign with wood frame at Palm and Morro Streets, The Associated Service Station, was granted oii motion of W. H. zil, seconded by R. P. Howell with the provision that the wogk be done under the super- Rion of the City Engineer and in accordance with Ordinance. The application of Mrs. Milton Nadelle for license for Bakery at 723 Higuera treet was granted on favorable report of W. H. Brazil, seconded by R. P. Howell. The application of A. L. Shelton for license for Lodging House at 546 Higuera treet was held over until the petitioner complies with health regulations relative to oilet rooms, etc. 1 U 1 1 1
