j The City Attorney weds requested to present a.Resolution at the next meeting
in reference to accepting a Deed from Anita Hathway for the street to be known as "Ellen
:Ala y' .
The petition of Harry J. Dubin et al in reference to the annexation of Caudill
Tract and a portion of the Imperial Addition was laid over upon request of the City
Attorney for further time within which to report on said petition.
The plans and specifications for the proposed new Fire Station at the corner
of Garden and Pismo Streets were presented by the City Engineer and on motion bf Ralph
C. Kennedy, seconded by W. H. Brazil such plans and specifications were approved and 1
ordered filed.
The matter of opening Toro Street and Fig Street as per the petition of
D. M. Hodgson et al was again laid over.
Discussion was had in reverence to certain police matters.
On motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy, the Council adjourned 1
to Monday, November 27, 1939 at 7:30 P. M. upon the following vote:

The petition of
J. C. Ragsdale for transfer of
licenses for Mdse.(Confectionery,
Lunch, Soft Drinks, etc.) and Cigars Sideline at 1638 Osos
Street to J. G. Moore was re-
ferred to the Commissioner of
Public Health and Safety for
investigation and report to
the Council.
The petition of E. D. , ^lard for permit to remove two trees from the park area
of sidewalk at 840 Grove Street waa referred, on motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by
Joseph Leary, to the Commissioner of Public Works for investigation and power to act.
The application of Santa Maria Gas Co. for permit to break pavement approx-
imately 2 ft. wide by 258 ft. long on Court Street between Monterey and Higuera Streets,
to replace old 2" main with a 3" main was granted on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by
Ralph C. Kennedy with the provision that work be done under the supervision of the City
Engineer.

Communication from W. D. and Mrs. Hughes of Atascadero Garden Farms �.
ordered placed on file.
The communication from H. C. S. Jones calling the attention of the Council
to the traffic hazards at the intersection of High Street and Santa Barbara Ave. was
referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety to be included in the general
survey of such matters.
The application of the San Joaquin Power Division, Pacific Gas and Electric
Co. No. 260 for work on Broad Street between Pismo Street and Mill Street, replacing
termite infested poles, more particularly descriled in said application on file, was
granted on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by W. H. Brazil, with the provision that work
be done under the supervision of the City Engineer.
Communications received from H. C. Hathway, and Mrs. Cynthia Faeh regarding
the proposed opening of Third Street to connect with Montalban Street and offering to
deed right -of -way etc. Matter discussed and referred, by the Mayor, to City Engineer,
Commissioners R. P. Howell and Ralph C. Kennedy to bring in sketch showing layout of
streets. City Attorney to communicate with Anita Hathway re: right- of -wa.y.
Application of Clifford G. Girdner for license for Music Vending Machine
at 785 Viguera Street (Pep Creamery) was granted on motion of W. H. Brazil, seconded by
R. P. Howell.
The petition of Mrs. R. F. Shawhan for transfer of license for Mdse. at
725 Broad Street to Alice A. Truesdale was granted on motion of W. H. Brazil, seconded
by Ralph C. Kennedy.
Communication of Mrs. Hal Hathway relative to drainage of surface water on
First Street was referred to the Commissioner of.Public Works, with power to act.
The petition of Delton N. Hodgson et al requesting the opening of Montalban
Street and Olive Street waa ordered placed on file for future reverence on motinn of R. P.
Howell, second ed by W. H. Brazil.
The communication of H. J. Dubin relative to grades on Hathway Ave. held
over to the next meeting.
Re: petition of C. M. Long in connection with certain property in Block
136 and Block "2" of Phillips Addition: Deed presented by C. M. & Ethel E. Long
covering a portion of Block "a" Phillips Addition. Matter discussed and it was moved
by Ralph C. Eennedy that the deed be accepted as presented, for a part of Block "Q ".
For the lack of a second, the motion was declared lost:. This was folloLaed by a petition
of C. M. and Ethel E. Long :- requesting the City Council to institute necessary pro -
ceedings to close that portion of Park Street between Monterey and Palm Streets and to
convey to,said C. M. and Ethel E. Long whatever title the City of San Luis Obispo may
have in and to that said portion of Park Street. Matter was discussed and it waa moved
by Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by fi. H. Brazil that the City Attorney take the necessary
procedure for the closing of that portion of Park Street.lying between Block 136 and
Block "?" of Phillips Addition. Motion carried.
Matter of petition of the annexation of Caudill Tract and a part of Imperial
Addition was laid over.

way Commission relative to distinctive markings for highways.
