Saraple Street Signs were presented by W. H. Brazil for approval of the City
Council, the signs to cost X5.25 per unit. It was suggested by Mayor F. C. Kimball
that 'N. H. Brazil make a survey of the City and make estimate of cost and confer with
Joseph Leary and secure other bids.
Commissioner N. H. Brazil brought up the question of licensing card games,
etc. and the I! Rayor.recommended he confer with the City Attorney . regarding same.
On motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by W. H. Brazil the meeting adjourned
to March 10, 1941 at 7:30 P. TAI.

The application of George Dunham for permit to raze the Roberts Hotel in Block
23 and to remove old lumber was granted on motion of W. H. Brazil, seconded by R.P.Howell
with the provision that work be done under the supervision of the City Engineer.
Petition of W. C.Wickenden for permit to place scaffolding on the Sauer Build
864 Monterey Street, in order torepair windows and cornice was granted on motion of R.P.
Howell, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy - work to be done under the supervision of the City
Engineer.
Application of Neon Sales & Service for permit to hang double faced neon signa
for the B & H Drug Co. at 899 Higuera Street, was referred to the Commissioner of Public

The petition of the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Co. to do certain pole
work in various locations in the City, more particularly described in application on file,
was referred to the Commissioner of Public "forks, on motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded
by W. H. Brazil.
The following applications for permit to recess curb was referred to the
Commissioner of Public Works, on motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by W. H. Brazil:
C. I. Letlow - To recess curb and ramp sidewalk for a distance of 75 ft.
on Osos St. and 75 ft. on Marsh St.
Rard Munger - To recess curb for driveway, for a. distance of 60 ft. on the
South side of Nipomo St. and 60 ft. on the West side of
Palm St.
On motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by W. H. Brazil, the following appli-
cations for permit to connect with sewer were referred to the Commissioner of Public Norks,
with power to act:

on motion of W. H. Brazil, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy.
The application of W. Ray Harmon for Shooting Gallery at 846 Palm Street was
grunted on motion of W. H. Brazil, seconded by R. P. Howell.
Notification received from the State Board of Equalization under date of March
7, 1941 on the application of Frank M. Jackson dba "Franks" at 676 Higuera Street, San
Luis Obispo, for transfer of license for "On Sale Beer and Wine" and "On Sale Distilled
-1pirits ", and "Off Sale Distilled Spirits ", to their.new location at 645 Higuera Street,
and on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by Ralph C. "Kennedy, same was ordered placed on file.
Notification received from the State Board of Equalization under date of March
, 1941, on the application of E. D. Bray, 974 Monterey Street, dba "Owl Club" for "On
le Beer', and on motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by W. H. Brazil same was referred
o the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for any action he deems necessary.
Notification received from the State Board of Equalization under date of March
, 1941 relative to the transfer of license for "On Sale Beer & Wine" from Blanche and
Mayne, San Miguel to Charlie M. Langdon dba "Tip's'Place "at 152 Higuera Street'in
e City of San Luis Obispo. After discussion, it was moved by Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded
R. P. Howell that same be referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for
investigation and report.
The Merchandising Bond of F. S. Rasco & Co. in the amount of 4200.00 with C. A.
Maino and Mary R. Maino as surety, was received, and on motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded 1
by R. P. Howell the surety'was accepted, bond approved and license ordered issued.
On favorable report the following applications were granted:
Neon Sales & Service - Application for permit to hang neon sign for
Delite Bakery at 723 Higuera Street.
Pettenger - Application for permit t:, connect with sewer on Park St.
between Mill and Phillips Lane.
On motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by IN. H. Brazil it was ordered that the
Engineering Department notify all Plumbing Contractors that inspection be made by the
(Engineering Department before any work is to be covered.
The City Council designated the week of March 24th to 29th inclusive as
"Clean Up Week" - the city truth: will be available to haul rubbish from the curb line.
